What can I say? Everything you said is absooooolutely true, especially the part about customer service. People like me though, so I really don't have a problem. However, I am quick to check wrong behavior, of course with authority, strength and humility. I was at the Dunkin Donuts while the call to prayer began. Because I was a traveler, I had combined my prayers. The man at the counter who was either of Bangladeshi or Filipino culture came over to me to say the shop was closing. A Saudi man began yelling at the man, while he was talking to me, demanding that he return to serve him. It was rude and obnoxious behavior. I took offense, so I rose up and walked over to the man and simply asked him to be kind and polite. And then I asked him to be patient, reminding him of the manners of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The man got quiet and afterward walked over to me and thanked me for reminding him of the manners of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). It was a very tearful moment for me, because I felt a sincerity and kindness I've never felt in the United States.
I got tears in my eyes just reading this comment, thank you for sharing. I've lived all over the US and there atrocities genuine people here, but doing such a thing with a stranger in public would NOT go over well at how. How beautiful!
I am SO GRATEFUL for your video. I am contemplating a move to the eastern province to work at a girls' school of 300 students. I hope to learn more from you!
I would tell you don’t judge all of Saudi based on Riyadh. My relatives from my mother side are from Riyadh, and I just can’t fit in with them (they’re all super rich and extravagant). I’m from the eastern region which I would consider the most diverse area since people come from all other Saudi regions to work and study (Aramco, Sabic, KFPMU, and IAU), so people here are mostly simple and middle class. Also, we don’t have as much restaurants as Riyadh and most of our restaurants are local-based but serve international food. Even though, I’m Saudi I don’t drink coffee not Saudi nor American. By the way, every region have their version of the coffee and almost every family have the their own of making it as well, so you may want to try other people’s coffees. I hope you enjoy your stay here and make a lot of Saudi friends (especially since a lot of them love Kpop 😂).
Lol! I’m loving the Korean hearts. Your video was amazing I couldn’t agree more with the terrible customer service it’s really nonexistent, and the affection and styles are super cute. I’m glad you’re giving insight to what it’s actually like being Saudi Arabia, I feel like it’s so poorly advertised everywhere. Great video!
@@mustafatayib8222 oh i want to hear about your experiences if you're teaching here? I am considering it! I've taught overseas before but I've always been hesitant about KSA and of course, so many people say things that it's hard to separate truth from what is perceived by everyone!
Hi and thank you for this informative video. I got a teaching job in Saudi and now I was told that I have to pay 400-600 riyal every month for Iqama and I’m moving there with my husband and 3 children. This has put me off. Please advice what should I do? I’m already paying for my own accommodation
yes unfortunately this is the new foreigner tax that saudi implemented. do you know how much your accommodation costs? How much do you need a month after paying that expense for your family? You would really have to sit down and see if the amount is realistic for a family.
When I first watched this video, I wondered why you only spoke about the love the FATHERS had for their SONS! Then, I watched a second video and I realized that you teach at an all boys school! Have you taught girls in Saudi Arabia at any point? Do the girls have the same curriculum or is their education marginalized?
يعطيك العافيه means god give you health, it can also be used as" great work" since you mentioned your colleagues. It has many different uses depending on situation.
I'm so glad you made this video as I'm considering a teaching position here and it is SO hard to separate the truth from what EVERYONE lol here believes. Are you still teaching here? I'd like to ask you more questions if you don't mind!
Lol picnics. Yes it is so funny how the spots are chosen. Like on a busy freeway people will sit right there either in the median or side of a busy road! I love how when we go to the beach it is completely family oriented. Customer service doesn't exist lol. Every place place has issues but I have to say I love our lives here and how safe we feel. 💕
Here is what I like about my beloved Saudi Arabia 1 it's the only Nation on Erath that takes the noble Quran and the sunnah as an Official Constitution 2 when the call for prayer Rises the whole Kingdom shuts down and everyone will have an official break to pray and nobody is bothered in his job 3 Not a single bar or a night club or a drop of alcohol is allowed in my country and we can make sure that our children are well protected here 4 a great educational system that completes the five pillars of Islam and more by the end of the Middle Schools in most of the sections 5 free Healthcare with free education from the first grade to the Ph.D level they even pay each college student about 300 $ every month and all of that WITHOUT ANY TAXES They even send them to study out said the Kingdom in the best Universities and to have Healthcare in the best Hospitals if they need and it is all paid bay the government May Allah bless Saudi Arabia and it's kings and all Muslims
This is what my sister Nneka said, "I listened to her 5 top likes and dislikes of Saudi and I'm sold on taking my children their for vacation. All the amenities for children and loads of clothes shopping, I think I need to pay them a visit soon inshalllah. I hope it's not hard to travel to that place...they have so much requirements I think."
Hisham Assing yeah it’s definitely a family friendly place. No, it’s not hard anymore. Saudi opened up tourist visas so you can get in much easier now.
HI :). IM happy to hear you enjoyed the video. I can definitely see myself teaching in Riyadh long term....but not at my school. I had some problems at my school and I am leaving this year. InshaAllah Ill do a video about it but I would love to find another job in Saudi.
Salam sister, Thank you for video, they provide an inside to living in Saudi. Is there any agency you would recommend to us? Also what can we expect in terms of salary for a fulled qualified teacher with years of experience? Thank you very much
Wa alaykumas salam. Im glad you benefitted from the video. With your experience and qualifications you should be getting 4-5k with everything else paid for (housing, transportation, airfare, visa,e tc). Apply directly with the school. Go on their websites and apply . You dont need the middle man. For postings, you c an also check out TIEONLINE and . TEACHAWAY. My friends also go through Searchassociates. Its an agency that helps you from start to finish. Hope that helps.
Sister please accept my criticism. You were little bit over acting. I don’t know where you came from but it seems that you are an American. We don’t have the best customer service or the cleanest places but it seems that you have not been to NYC and have not seen the trash that is everywhere. Not only trashes, please take leak in the street. You go to a 5 stars hotel or a restaurant in NYC and you rarely see someone smiles and the minute you do something wrong unintentionally you see the anger. Regarding the show off, please accept that people there have money and they are using there money to show off, I don’t know why you find it a problem. They got lot of, what they are supposed to do with it????? I apologize if was harsh on you, but this is a reality. I am sure that The young Saudi men and Women will work to improve the live of EVERYONE in the kingdom regardless of religion, nationality or color. Peace
One more thing, there is nothing called American food, probably the only Food “ invented in America” is Hamburger and we do it better than it is done in the States. American food brands YES American food NO
