In my country this seems like a huge waste of the doctor's time. A nurse or lower level medical trained staff should have received the patient into an office and the nurse should have collected the blood pressure and other vital signs for the doctor. Then the doctor can just pop in and spend a fast time reviewing the information and diagnosis and then write a prescription. The doctor is then into the next office to see the next waiting patient. This type of patient management and flow allows the doctor to see more patients in the same time frame and shorten long waiting times for people to get an appointment.
But it is common in a healthcare center (vårdcentral) that the doctor does all of that because they don't have that many nurses and doctors working there
Right! It is good to spend some time with the patient so you can ask them questions. Listening to the patient is super important. We should also take into consideration the psychological aspect, the patient needs to feel they are really taken care of.@@dude988
