For my wedding veil, I ended up removing the plastic combs and swapping it out for metal combs (you can find them at Joanns, Michaels and Amazon)
Quick tip on the 2nd crown, you may wanna add a small bit of sponge /cushion. It's gonna be pressing against your head for hours on end, may as well try to make it a bit more comfortable ❤️
