What an excellent build! You did so well with the kits and the diorama is so characterful and dynamic. This was a real pleasure to watch and thank you for your kind words.
Got my kits and the thing I was worried about was the painting but the video shows it can be done and yours look great. As for the diorama, that looks spot on. Has a real atmosphere to it. 1/144 is great for those with limited space. You can get bigger kits for the same price as these but sometimes space is more valuable.
Thanks, MN. Great job on both the kits and the diorama. A very evocative scene....the placement of the planes certainly give the impression of chase and the desperation of the chased to escape. All kudos to you for not only attempting such a small scale but sharing it on YT......it will inspire others to give it a go for sure.
for masking the camo, i wouldve put some thick lines on the color diagram with a soft pencil then pressed the tamiya sheet onto it pretty hard transfering the lines across, then just cut them up and put em on like decal stickers
A great diorama and the kits produce nice models. I think you captured the sea very well. The only thing is the static prop blades. i have experimented with discs of thin clear plastic and airbrushing fuzzy prop blades onto the disc then finally putting a thin wash on the disc whilst rotating the disc. Rather like creating a windscreen wiper pattern effect.
I must agree with Allan. You have put a lot time and modelling skill into this dio. So please go the extra step and blurr those rounds of clear plastic. I am almost finished my REVELL Spitsfires and a Messa Schnitzel 109 (Deals Wheels) cartoon aircraft and flight is necessary..............cheers
They are beautiful little kits. You've made a very nice job of the diorama. Franz Von Werra was held in a POW camp - and tried to steal an aircraft - in the general area where I grew up, I heard his story as a kid. It's a shame he was killed in a ditching at sea after all that.
@@ModelNerd It was fresh in my mind because I'm reading Stapme's biography right now. If you enjoy pilot biographies as well as modelling it's a really good read.
Well, you took a damn good whack at it didn't you? Are the cliffs around Dover? I was under the impression they were chalk white. Super feat being 1/144 scale. Nice work on the water also. This is just my preference but, I would have snipped the props off.
Thanks Daniel. Yes, the cliffs are white but the weather in England is always so rubbish that they look grey :D I think you're right about spinning propellers - I am investigating this as an option for a future build.
What an excellent diorama, I really love those Beacon models too. You've certainly done them justice! I stumbled across your channel and I'm loving what I've watched so far :) I'm the opposite to you though, I find it much easier painting the smaller scales (1/144, 1/72) opposed to the bigger stuff. Anyway, if you get a chance check out one of my 1/144 builds and let me know what you think :D subscribed!
It's quite common (in larger scales, at least) not to include a pilot these days. Or, like some Airfix kits, to only include one for a two seater aircraft!
@@ModelNerd Most vintage kits I've seen provide a pilot figure. If progress of newer kits mean omitting that option, I'll stick with the old dog kits. Hey, keep up the great model building. Bill

Thank you - and congratulations on getting your first kits out! Looking forward to many more!
That diorama turned out really nice, well done my friend.
Thank you John, glad you enjoyed it

Great Diorama! These planes look so cool in this small scale!
Thank you mate!

Ah, that's a good idea - thanks Harry
Great work, Love this! Beacon models are doing so well and its great to see
Thanks Will - yeah, they've done a good job
Awesone work. The dio looks brillaint
Thanks!

Thanks Allan. Yes, I was just thinking about the disc propeller effect yesterday as I will need it for a future project. I'll have to give that a go.

Very nice job on that diorama
Thank you Tom
Please, keep posting good jobs like this. Thanks!!
Thank you Manuel
Lovely! Makes me want to get one of their kits 😃
Thank you! Yeah, give them a go!
Really nice dio👍
Thank you Dave

Thanks for the info, I didn't know that. Yes, great little kits - I hope Beacon are able to follow through with their plans for other aircraft.

Thank you Jimmy
Very well done!!!! Love it
Thanks Josh - much appreciated
@@ModelNerd love you channel mate so informative and inspiring. All the best
Excellent result. Wondering on the painting technique if you replaced the prop blades with a clear disc to simulate spinning. Cheers stu
Thanks Stuart. Yes, I'll have a go at the disc propellers on a future build for sure.
What an excellent job that you’ve done of it all 🤔👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏻👍🏻 Well done indeed! ❤️
Thanks Richard
Good work as always ,as an aside do like your tank cutting mats.
Thank you mate. Yes, I really like the mat too - unfortunately it is a bit shiny with my desk lights
Great job! I think the Spit pilot should lead on the 109 😙
Thanks Mark!

Nice, really nice ... a little bit small, but still ... very nice!!!
Thanks!
Brilliant
Thanks mate!
I didn’t realise how small a scale this was … excellent work!
Yes, I didn't really realise until I received them either!
Wow looks really good . 1,144 far to small for me . But well done to u 👍. Keep this good work coming . We all enjoy your up loads .
Thank you John, I really appreciate your support
*Only on mistake on you wonderful beautiful scenery is the propellers, your cliff is splendid as the paint of your 2 planes.*
What's the mistake on the propellers? That they aren't spinning?
@Model Nerd Exactly, even if at this scale i can imagine they aren't easy to make realistic. 👍
but other than that, bloody good job
Thanks Harry
I don't know how you can work with that small of a scale. Looks amazing though, I would swear it was a corgi model not a kit
Thanks Calum. Yes, it was quite hard work on the old eyes!
👍
Thanks Gunnar

@Model Nerd thanks a lot, mate 🙌
Disappointed the kit doesn't have a pilot figure. Having to buy a pilot separately is a rip off. You did an awesome job on the dog fight scene.
