  • 🇹🇷 Another day of exploring East Turkey's most remote lands and ancient places.
First, we visited the mosque of a Kurdish-inhabited settlement, Varlı Village, which is in the Digor District of Kars Province.
We stopped by an old Karapapakh cemetery and explored some of the beautiful tombstones. Karapapakh (Terekeme) people are an ethnic group of Azerbaijani Turks.
Our final destination was the Khtzkonk Medieval Armenian Monastery ("Beş Kilise" in Turkish) which stands in a very remote gorge. We had to take a long and challenging hike, in which we almost got attacked by Anatolian shepherd dogs.
