Geoff is a member of the a capella group Voiceplay. If you want to hear a good example of the incredibleness of Geoff and Voiceplay, check out their cover of "The Dragonborne Comes." The voices, the visuals, the arrangement.....absolutely unbelievable!
Geoff's background is in voice acting and acting out parts with singing and costume. He is part of an a cappella group called VoicePlay, of which is known for their theatrics. So, it's just part of his niche... that he pulls off very well. Add in his 5 octave range and vocal gymnastics, he's one of the best at it.
Arranged, Produced, Filmed, Performed, and Edited by Geoff Castellucci. Backup vocals by Jeff, Daryl, Goff, and Jeoph aka The Ghost Riders. Geoff and his group VoicePlay do it all themselves with no Labels to hold them back. They are the #TheatreKidsOfACappella. Next Sixteen Tons or Take Me Home Country Roads.
Geoff and most of the other members of VoicePlay have worked at Disney and/or Universal. They come by the staging, costuming, lighting, makeup naturally. VoicePlay is over 180 videos, and Geoff's solos come in pushing 20. He has an old Tennessee Ernie Ford cover 16 Tons, Jimmy Dean's Big Bad John, Take Me Home Country Roads, all of which you should enjoy. I grew up with the Marty Robbins version.
Glad you found Geoff Castellucci. For songs in a similar vein checkout his covers of 16 Tons, Big Bad John, and Shenandoah. Also, in regards to Big Bad John, Jimmy Dean (the original artist) did a sequel to the song on the same album called Cajun Queen. You might like that too.
It’s definitely all Geoff. He frequently performs with multiples of himself to showcase his incredible 5 octave range. He also does all the arrangement. He also tends to sing with his hands a lot. I think it’s an Italian thing.
You definitely need to check out all of Geoff's "solo" work. He has a 5 octave range and every voice you hear is just him! He has a long list of songs that will not disappoint you! He has a running joke about his name, but it's all him!
Yes they're all Geoff. It's just the makeup that makes each look different. That's the idea. Voiceplay and Geoff have the best makeup artist... Rick Underwood.
If you liked this, you need to check out the rest of Geoff's channel, he is an amazing singer. 5 octave range and incredible video production. All done by, mostly, himself. Also check him out with his accappella band Voiceplay. It will be a rabbit hole you may never dig yourself out of, or want to dig out of.
Geoff almost always clones himself to become his own backing group so he can sing all the parts of the harmonies he creates. :) Geoff is the bass for the acapella group VoicePLay who are known for being theatrical though they aren't always, and neither is Geoff. They're just very good at it when they do.
Hmmm. If you don't like singers dressed up for Halloween you probably won't like some of Geoff's other videos like Monster Mash, or Voiceplay's Halloween videos. They just came out with one a few hours ago. Oh well. You can't please everyone. 😘 However: Geoff does sing a lot of manly-man songs. You might like those. 😊
This one is a double whammy as while the video is spooky season perfect, the audio can be enjoyed all year long. It isn’t what I would normally look for in a playlist, but it is so good that I’ll be listening to it year round. In his cover of Elvis’s Way Down, he named the three clones Jeff, Goff and Jeoph, alluding to the many ways people try to pronounce or spell his name. With this we have the addition of Daryl. In Way Down he channels his inner Elvis complete with a little booty wiggle. Some of my favorites of his are 16 Tons made famous by Tennessee Ernie Ford as well as Big Bad John made famous by Jimmy Dean of sausage fame. But my very favorite of his is Misty Mountains Cold from the Hobbit. He considers himself a baritone who had aspirations of being a rock tenor when he was younger. But when that didn’t pan out he kept his higher range and developed his bass range as well. He has a five octave range, with his lowest recorded note in a production as an AO which is the last white note on an 88 key piano.
Janet, I've been mulling over the Darryl thing and all I can come up with is this. In a 80/90's TV show named Newhart, there are three bothers; Larry, Darryl and Darryl. Their mother or father liked the name so much, they used it twice. So I'm reaching for the fact that with Geoff, Jeoff, Goff, and Jeff, he reached into the wayback machine and grabbed Darryl as an ode to brothers with the same name. Geoff, if you are listening, please confirm. 😆
All of them are Geoff. He has nicknames for them too. Geoff and the group he is in, Voiceplay, are definitely into theatrics. Among the A Capella groups they are know as the theater kids. And for good reason, they all have spent time at Disneyland and other places doing this type of performance. They are the masters of theatrics.
As someone with seizures, I'm SOOOOOOO thankful for warnings like this. If I'm in a bright room, it's not an issue. I can look away quickly enough, maybe get a small headache if it's bad, but I've yet to seize up from a video if I watch in a lighted area. It the DARK though... yeah, that's caused problems, and so I am ever so thankful to musicians and film makers who put a warning like this. It's a small thing to add, but it can save many of us a trip to the hospital and 3 days of neurological recovery. Love Geoff's music! You are so right with "a handsome Italian hunk of meat" and with a voice that makes all genders just a little flushed, either simping over him or simply in awe (or intimidated) by the mega-testosterone in that low voice. I saw one reactor exclaim that Geoff must have hit puberty at age 3, haha! It's definitely a voice that hits some primal trigger in all humans, and his control over both low range and those high tenor voices is just wildly talented.
I love Geoff his singing abilities are just insane. He’s part of a group called Voiceplay. They are my favourite music artists and it’d be great to see you guys react to more of his solo stuff as well as the group
Hello I'm new nice to meet you I rec voice play accapella group and the cover oogie boogie song. You also must experience Geoff castelluchi ,headless horseman , it's holloween time lol
❤️🔥🤣👍😁😏 excellent cover, great reaction, and I guess I will leave it vague, and not leave a cheat code for everyone to get you in the crossfire😏😂👍🚌💨💨💨💨💨💨
From one non-music person to someone who admits they don’t know lots about music - Geoff has a 5 octave range. Low bass to tenor. As a female, I would much rather listen to male singers. Their voices seem less harsh and more soothing. There are a few acceptions, but not many.
He plays all the parts In all his videos look up his vision of 16 tons halls of castermi and big bad John and his lowest note he can hit is a f 9low bass
For a look at early Voiceplay, (and Geoff) try the live version of "Road Trip" or "The Chicken Song". I think you would really enjoy the humour. There is very much a crossover between Nightwish and Voiceplay fans. We love the extremes. And Geoff and Floor...two gods.
Welcome to the Geoff Castellucci Rabbit Hole! He is one of the best singers in the world IMO. He has a five octave range and he harmonizes with himself on his songs. He clones himself in most of his videos so we can have a visual for the harmonies. I have liked and subscribed in hopes of seeing more Geoff!😊 You said it had a very masculine feel to the video, Geoff arranges the songs, produces the videos and edits them too. He does just about everything but the makeup and sometimes the camera work.
React to more of Geoff's music AND Voiceplay (which is totally a cappella...e.g. Hoist The Colours, Dragonborn Comes, Carry on wayward son, etc) videos...and your subscriber base will skyrocket!
I would highly recommend Geoff's cover of Monster Mash (along with his lovely wife). And you must listen to VoicePlay, the acapella group he helped start. Hoist the Colors is phenomenal, as is the Oogie, Boogie song, This is Halloween, and Hide & Seek (Ding Dong). It's really easy to get hooked on these guys. They are just that good.
Welcome to Geoff, he's a phenomenal bass singer as well as baritone and tenor. Perhaps one for you might be ain't no sunshine... Also way down. Subscribing in anticipation
Nice...Johnny Cash version is legendary..love that but I swear best Ive ever heard was impromptu Lynyrd Skynrd and their opener that night...Monkeybone I think was the name..after an amazing 20 min Freebird to end the show...10 min later when many had left encore...celebrity theater phx az circa 03...Ive searched high and low for vid of this cannot find...anyone that was there send it to me I beg you lol
Easy to know which reactors talk too much and stop it too much . A reaction video should not be long, the most twice the time of the song. So in this case anything over 8 minutes is too long. Over 19 minutes is crazy.

LOL - that "Shiny" song you mentioned is from Moana, and ironically enough, it's Geoff that sings that song in Voiceplay's Moana Medley! 🤣

Geoff did a great job. Love this song. Johnny Cash would be proud.❤️
Yes it's all him

Okay, the song is sung in five part harmony. Each sperate voice track has his own name costume and look. Check the singer's names in the credits.
Geoff is all the characters. They are using a layering technique to produce his videos.
"Misty mountain cold" and with the group VoicePlay you should perhaps start with "Oogi boogi" from nightmare before christmas 🙂
You referenced "Shiny" at the end of the video. In case you didn't know, Geoff Castellucci actually sings that song in Voiceplay's Moana Medley.
Hello I'm new nice to meet you I rec voice play accapella group and the cover oogie boogie song. You also must experience Geoff castelluchi ,headless horseman , it's holloween time lol

Thanks for this pne Angie and Rollen. A great remake of the Ftankie Laine classic but in a lower key. Phil in Scotland.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Actually, the original writer/singer of this song is Stan Jones around 1948. So Frankie was doing a remake, as well
@@sureevoltz4120 thank you for the info. I only knew the Frankie Laine version and thought it was his song.
@@philpiper if you're curious, here's an audio of Stan Jones version from 1948

It's called music therapy. You'll be fine.
All 5 are Geoff Castellucci. His Misty Mountains Cold cover video is done the same way

If you want to see a big chunk of his vocal range. His cover of "Blackbird" is really good
If you want Halloween songs then geoffs group "Voiceplay" are the kings of that. Their theatrics and talent are unparalleled
The name of the Spanish group is Broken Peach. I love their music but will agree they're not for everyone.
i was born in 73 i listen to the 80's so know what u r talking about
Me too! '73' Baby!
Yes its all one guy
Of course it's all him. Lots of singers do this. Freddie Mercury did it on Bohemian Rhapsody.
Fantastic reaction 😊 subscribed to see you react to Geoff’s band ‘VoicePlay’ xx

Try his “16 Tons”, just wonderful. With Voiceplay, “ Oogie Boogie” from Nightmare before Christmare shows his
5 octave range!
Geoff also does 16 tons. You really should react to that.
Misty Mountains. Trust me, you both need to listen to that next. This song is nice, but he is not even coming close to his max on this song.
