Absolutely loved this video. I have just spent 20 minutes trying to figure out the pictures on that useless piece of paper! Your video explained it perfectly. Thanks so much!
Fella, you're a life saver. I love the way the official instructions say "Read the instructions carefully" ... but then there is just a couple of stupid pictograms.
Great video, but 2 observations. 1. I think you have fixed the outer bracket incorrectly, the tip of if should go into the groove. 2. Once you install the rafter you need to wind back the awning until the collar on the rafter comes back in contact with the cap on the larger diameter section. This is what creates the tension and createst the strength. As shown you are only bracing against the spring tension in the rafter pole.
Happily, mine came pre-installed on my motorhome. Almost identical to yours: (Thule Omnistor) BUT I had no idea what that "extra pole" was for as there were NO instructions... I did work it out later...🤔😂 Also on mine... when winding it out.. If you put the winder into the slot all the way...then rotate it a half turn anti-clockwise it locks into place. To get it back out after rewinding the awning, you need to push in and rotate half turn clockwise. THAT was a PITA as I didn't know ..and couldn't get the blasted thing out.. but, guess what..I DID have instructions.. but didn't know THAT, either... Found in a drawer. hahaha😅😁
Yer that happened to us with the winder as well lol . Took a while to figure that one out , there was a point I thought it’s just going to have to stay in
@@UrbanVanlife yep. Was considering a hacksaw... but then i got it out... but didn't know HOW I did it... didnt use it for ages - it was quite a while later that I found the manual 😆
