Eventually he relocated to US for graduate school, but he was always a Punjabi and to his dying day recounted the wonderful memories of village life.

Lyallpur was also nothing to do with Punjabi as it was named after British general Lyall. I understand your point of view but india has changed names of most cities as well since partition .
