Man, Joe Walsh and Nathan East in one go. Nathan is, as you might have it, a bad boy. What a phenomenal talent he has. Been listening to his live work with so many greats for so long. A legend in his own lifetime for sure.
Duuuude! That Gold top with the p90 and the bigsby is the new Sergio Vallin signature model! He's a mexican guitarist from a very popular yet polarizing band called Maná. Just wanted to let you know. Also, I'm a homeskooler from Mexico, that's why it was so exiting for me to see that Joe's playing that guitar.
man, Tom, thank-you for this. It's so unbelievably cool for us homeskoolers to get to see behind the scenes. and nathan east, are you kiddin me dude? what a treat
I worked an Eagles show and got to hang with Mark. It was a great day and got to see Joe's war room of guitars. Joe was great too. It's nice to see him again especially on Home Skoolin.
Man, Joe is a riot! Must be such an honor and a blast for you to be on the same stage with JW. Been there for every Homeskoolin’ episode…this is honestly one of my favorites.
From hiding out in your cold garage to playing with Joe Walsh and Ann Wilson your always the same humble guy. Joe’s guitar tech sounds like a great guy to have a beer with. I’ll bet he has lots of stories about all of their adventures.
Mark is so cool. I told him I was a guitar player and I asked him if I could get one of Joe’s picks and he offered me the ones they give out, and I said actually I was hoping for one of the red ones that he played with that night. He said: Oh you do play guitar, and he gave me his pick, and his set list because he thought I’d like that too!! How cool is he?!!!! 😍😍 Thanks again Mark!!! 🤗 from the Belly Up in Aspen 2016! Made my night!!
just WOW! Uncle Larry, what a blast. The love and respect between such a band of musicians is just plain ole delicious. We all should be so blessed to have so much good vibes in the room. As ever, thanks for taking us all along for the ride. The closest most of us will ever get to being back-stage.
Best Homeskoolin ever! The last time I got out to see a show, you were playing with Joe at House of Blues. I don’t get out much, but it’s quality when I do.
You do a wonderful job of making 'names' into real people, and also of showing the great people behind the scenes. It's really fun to see all of y'all just being yourselves. Thanks for bringing us along.
Love these 'behind the scenes' videos. Just a bunch of regular guys hanging out & getting ready for a show. In this situation, the 'regular guys' just happen to be some of the most amazing musicians in the business. Legends!
Tom...I saw The James Gang 4 or 5 times in one year....1970....all New Jersey shows. Joe would always do a couple of songs with just acoustic guitar. They were fabulous...just a nice memory.
You should be up for an Emmy or Oscar or something for these great guest star appearances in your “documentaries.” Who knew the places we would go with our crazy Uncle Larry. Cheers 🍻
Uncle Larry, how? How do so many sweet souls wind up in music? I know there's got to be some pain but the sweetness rises to the top. Thank you so much for these very humbling introductions to sweetheart after sweetheart.
Fantastic video Tom! Thank you Mark and Nathan for the commentary. Thank you Joe for the scoop on Tom's background, hilarious. Very cool Tom, very cool indeed.👌🤙🍻
Oh man Oh man. Tell Joe and Nathan I love them both, and of course, my dear Uncle Larry, even if he is younger than me by 20 years. Fourplay is one of my favorite groups. And of course Nathan has made a lot of music with that Eric guy.
All of this is just too cool… that Setlist on Nathan’s case, that crazy guitar in the beginning… oh and that weird red super advanced crayon looking thing!
I saw you all on that 2017 tour in Dallas, great show all the way around, think it might have been the second show on that tour, I always made a point to catch Tom Petty when he came through town, had no idea that would be the last tour, it was a bonus having you all there, all around awesome night!
Wow, that's how I put my pedals in my custom made board, in an arc. That was years ago and I thought it was stupid because I never saw anyone else, locally or rock star, who did that. Until now.
I believe Uncle Larry to be one of if not the coolest man alive today!! Your comments about the selling guitars is sooooo true!!! I have sold a couple that I wish I could have back!!!
We knew Nathan was great at UCSD 1978-79 , photographic- like musical memory. Twas said he could look at a chart once and then just play it perfectly without having to look at it.
11+11=22. My son Luke was born on this date. I wasn’t watching this video but was watching the one where Tom was showing us the solo to mother (Pink Floyd) when my wife came in and told me to get my shit in gear because the baby was coming. Love you Luke Battles, maybe you’ll read this comment one day when you’re learning from Tom’s videos.
I need to complain, this is Not long enough!! +1 to Joe for the background check. 😂😂 This is top drawer fellas. It also shows the respect Tom is held in from these guys and we benift, sincere thanks to all for allowing us in. Most people doing this would be shown the street from the roof. 😂😂 👍👍👍👍👍🥃Respect to you mate.
Well, I think you guys just single handedly solved the tone wood debate. LOL Nathan has played with about every one under the sun. Nice to see him around. Sick vid uncle Larry
I love to hear a seasoned guitar man use the phrase "double coils." Simply the best. What a great vid, thanks Unc. Also, love that Joe uses some super basic pedals, nice to see!
Has anyone ever seen Nathan East in a bad mood? Seriously, he must be one of the nicest musicians ever.
And just like that we got Joe Walsh and Nathan East on the channel. All in a day's work of Uncle Larry.
Nathan East, what a legend....
Joe had me cracking up as he pulled that lollipop out of his mouth. Dude is hilarious.
Thank you for the mention Tom! So good to see you making music with Joe…and Nathan!
I always knew Tom wasn't on the straight and narrow, glad Joe could set the record straight
How on earth is Nathan East 66 years old? Looks great and is always smiling. I definitely wanna be a nathan east when I grow up.
Holy Moses. This was such a fun episode. Cameos by Nathan East and Joe Friggin Walsh… THANKS BUK!!! Love it
Man, Joe Walsh and Nathan East in one go. Nathan is, as you might have it, a bad boy. What a phenomenal talent he has. Been listening to his live work with so many greats for so long. A legend in his own lifetime for sure.

I worked an Eagles show and got to hang with Mark. It was a great day and got to see Joe's war room of guitars. Joe was great too. It's nice to see him again especially on Home Skoolin.

Hot damn, that modular pickup system is something else. What a great gig, though. Joe is a favorite. I'd love to hear you guys do In the City!
Life's been good to me so far! Cheers Tom!!
“What’s your favorite parts of my solos?”
Must be an oldie but it gets me every time 😂
AWESOME!!!! (I thought for sure Joe was going to say “How ya doin’?!” when the camera zeroed in on him.)

I saw them about 1971, set one was all guitar, set two Joe would play Hammond organ for 30 minutes, then finish out with guitar.
You should be up for an Emmy or Oscar or something for these great guest star appearances in your “documentaries.” Who knew the places we would go with our crazy Uncle Larry. Cheers 🍻

You ROCK! for sharing behind the scenes Tom. Nathan seems like an incredible guy.
Joe has been my hero since the early 70's! What a gas it must be to play with him. Lucky Larry!

Us Homeskoolers are all the same! Flipping out when Tom casually points out "there's Nathan East."
We knew Nathan was great at UCSD 1978-79 , photographic- like musical memory. Twas said he could look at a chart once and then just play it perfectly without having to look at it.
