Sonic's Down Air Attack being named "Shooting Star Kick" despite the same move being called "Sonic Rocket" in _Sonic Battle_ is nothing short of a crime! Where is the consistency?!
Sonic's moveset doesn't take all that much from Sonic Battle at all, so I'm not surprised by this, personally. I imagine the names we get today are probably derived from internal documents, with many of them only coming to light now in the Tips section in Smash Ultimate as now they had a place to put them outside of places like guide books. For a long time I feel like the only commonly known one (relative to all the rest, anyway) was Captain Falcon's Knee Smash.
I swore up and down this was a Yoshi move, specifically the move where Yoshi gets stars around him when he landed, but I think I confused the down special with a down air thinking on it now.
They all have really distinctive names, though. The way to make that a challenge would be if you were shown all of Kazuya’s moves and you had to match the name to the move
@@verfuncht I wouldn't say _all_ of his attack names are distinctive; I could see moves like "Leaping Sidekick," "Crouch Spin Kick," and "Jumping Knuckle," among a few others, being generic enough to be mixed up with other hand-to-hand fighters. Plus some of the more distinct move names aren't very indicative of what they're actually describing. For example, I'd definitely guess "Searing Edge," belonged to Roy, Pyra, or even Corrin before guessing Kazuya. Not to say that a full Kazuya move quiz wouldn't be fun too, but I feel like that would probably be a bit _too_ challenging for the Pandas unless they brought in 1 or 2 of their FGC guys as guests, lol.

Most of the time the you only see the names of the non-special attacks in the tips, and not all of them can actually appear on the loading screens (If anyone was paying attention anyways). I can pretty much guarantee that someone would have no clue on moves like like “Swap.”
This one was impossible! I would also love to see a reaction and discussion of who won and lost at the end. But I understand getting people together is a bit harder even if it is only for the end.
7:00 fun fact: marth isnt the only one using the Falchion, both Lucina and Chrom also use a unique sword called like that (although it's a different one from Marths). Coincidentally, all of them have the same trait in FE games: bonus dmg against dragons

Another idea along the same concept, have them hear a move played out, then first guss on what character and what move it is, then you tell them the character for the second guess and have them guess again
Do you mean the tip the game gives you? If you use a normal jump, Up-B, then use the down air, the animation for the down air will finish before you touch the ground, meaning you won’t need to worry about landing lag from the dair. (I think)
Thought this was gonna be easy but I forgot that Smash had named normal moves. I only know like a few from certain characters and all of Kazuya's and Terry's and that's about it, and none of em showed up here
The one thing I would change to this quiz is they should get an extra point if they guess the exact move before the hint is given. Other than that great video.

Mewtwo's fair is called "Shadow Scratch" when it should be "Shadow Claw," since that's an actual Pokémon move and what everyone was calling it before.

An easy way to guess move names is that most DLC characters don't have official move names or only a few with names.
I was thinking this except Terry and Kazuya because all of their move names are known
