Literally the ONLY thing I remember about this movie; was when Rodney was a baby and his parents just finished assembling him, only for them to be like "Wait, we wanted a boy, right? Hang on, I forgot to attach...something."

I was more shocked by how, not like the film he sounds...like, I've never heard a video game impersonation more off. I honestly thought it was another character speaking at first, because it just does not sound right.

The movie itself is strange enough to be called a fever dream
Literally the only time I watched it was when I was 11 and extremely ill and my mother rented it from Blockbuster to keep me occupied during the day. I don’t know how much of my memories of it were real and how much of it was a hallucination

All I really remember from this game is that in the final boss, if you run out of health, you don't die but instead get a unique cutscene where the villain goes "tsc tsc tsc, you're nothing but the son of a dishwasher" and then Rodney's weapon just breaks apart with Rodney looking depressed and walking away.
I respect the devs for going the extra mile for a failstate cutscene, but that was such an anticlimax of a game over lol.

Grew up playing this game, lots of memories! Definitely a pleasure to see it experienced (and righteously ridiculed) through a new player's eyes!
On the one hand, it was surprising to see them bring in Stanley Tucci to voice Herb here. Herb has more involvement in the game than the movie as he narrates every part of Rodney’s journey despite not being there with him. But on the other, I’m disappointed they couldn’t get Ewan McGregor and Robin Williams to again voice Rodney and Fender, I mean Fender doesn’t speak in this game.
I would have also liked if Ewan voiced him in the game instead of Jess Harnell. I don't hate Jess, it's just that I would have preferred Ewan voicing.

Also...since robots would have oil/fuel inside them as the closest blood equivalent, Rodney saying that it's going to get greasy is practically an admission of eager willingness to commit grisly murder. He's going to paint the world oily-brown.

The Robots movie is a masterpiece! I’d actually argue that the aforementioned and The Peanuts Movie were the only two legitimately good films from Blue Sky, everything else ranged from okay to forgettable with only one film being truly awful, you know the one.

This is actually my favorite animated movie that came out from Blue Sky Studios. A world full of machines, so many different color and robot designs. I would rather had a sequel from this movies then another Ice Age or Rio.

The gamecube and PC version of the game runs much better than the ps2 version.

Fun fact: this game had mods going around at some point, and I remember because my usual pirate PS2 games dealer would list the disk mods on the back
Which was mostly fixes for bugs, controllers and a pretty neat graphics overhaul that made the ps2 go brrrr if you played too long but was (a bit) closer to the movie by playing around with the color pallete and the gamma.
Ohh cool! I wonder if there are any for the PC version.

Remember having this game on a CD when I was a kid. Tried to run it on our old windows XP desktop at home but apparently that pc didn't meet the requirements and the game bugged out. Textures and sound broke etc.. Had to borrow my grandparents laptop with windows 7 to even run the game
Disney may have shut it down but on the bright side we will get that insane ride in Disney World. Just keep the Hammer.

Why all the 2000s movie games had like parts of the movie for extras?
During the 2000s video games were INCREDIBLY easy to make, as compared to the 2010s & 2020s where now games are practically a computer software that has to be installed. In the 2000s, games could've been made in a matter of months as opposed to years.
And most of them made by Activision and made for ps2
I miss Blue Sky Studio's. :(

This is actually a childhood favorite of mine. I rented it as a kid, played a ton and thankfully beat it before sending it back. Later I found the game at a thrift store on the GC and I still have that copy. I still enjoy the movie and the game, but the game did take a lot of liberties from the movie and not for the best. Still, not a bad time if you love PS2 era platformers.

As for Robots, I only saw it once 16 years ago and pretty much all I remember is that the gamba freaked me out...for some reason.

Robots takes place within the Ratchet & Clank universe, and nobody can convince me otherwise.
I remember renting this game as a kid and it was my favorite, also the soundtrack for the GBA and DS version is probably one of my favorite video game soundtracks.
