Excellent video. very informative. I have separation studio, and didn't know you could merge the highlight white with the underbase. Excellent....one less screen! Thank you for posting.
Hey Mikey, I am just starting off and was going to purchase this. What’s the difference between the accurip and color separate software ? Oh and why did you keen in RGB mode ? Thank you
I believe Accurip went out of business. But one is strictly a rip software. The other a separation software and rip. Go check ours out actionseps.com It does both.
Hi Mickey, I was wondering why you didn't print out of separation studio? I'm considering buying it. I did a test print and it worked fine using only separation studio 4. I was wondering why you used accurip on top of that?
@@nicolashoule5721 This was version 3 which didn't have the feature of printing out of Sep Studio. The newest version has the option to print the films from the software as well as to set the lpi.
Great vid man! An stupid question maybe, don't you have to change the color of your positives to black before printing? Or accurip does it for you? Greetings
Great channel! I was wondering when using seperation studio can you just print it on your transperencies from there ? Is it just ready to print out or do you need a program like accurip ?
Thanks so much for your tutorials! One question - I’m separating using SStudio then bitmapping using photoshop using your other tutorials. 3 of my 5 colors turning out great when converted to halftones. 2 of my colors - red and blue - have halftones all over every bit of white in the image. Started with black background in SStudio. Every bit of what was the black background get halftones all over it (red and blue screens) creating the square (once black) background around image. Please help!
Which version of SStudio do you have? Version 4 comes with a built in RIP. Only thing I can think of is perhaps something is moving when it comes to creating the halftones. Using the bitmap method as well is kind of a bootleg way to do thing, but it can work... You'll just get more consistent results with a RIP software and it'll save you time.
Thank You for your help good luck with screen printing I am self thought, working out my garage as well 6 color press and i have sep studios I cant wait to learn more about artwork it is all i am missing. :-)
You can just use standard colors that are as close to the colors they use. It'll work fine. I hardly use their yellow and red because they are so pale and not bright. If I'm doing flesh tones, I'll use their pantone inks.
We had to start charging because providing support was taking up quite a bit of our time. Get it now while it's $10 because the price will go up in the future.
Thanks for checking out our tutorials! Be sure to subscribe and check out our other videos.
Mikey Designs & Silk Screen can you print the image from Separation studios ??

hi excellent video thanks for sharing. Question how will you do it if using different color shirts?
Thank you! With different color shirts, you would create a black channel.
Super Helpful Thanks Mate! Showed every step

Hey @Mikey, I tried downloading the registration template but it wanted to pay. Can you please help? Thanks
Is water base spot process color different from normal water base color?

The newest version of Sep Studio comes with a built in RIP so you can output the art from there.
Thank you very much. Ur awesome !
@@20000connor Any time!
Excellent video.
Thank you very much!
Sir which one would be your under base and which one would be the black? Thank you in Advance!
The black would be the shirt color showing through the art, and the white base would be the first sep to the left in Sep Studio.
Hi what if the shirt is white, is it automatically changes the colors of design in sep studio
It does, however if you need black in the design, you have to go to add black channel and it will add the black in there.
@@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 tnx sir it helps a lot
@@roelcortez4042 You're welcome!
I did all the steps up to the print part, but I'm using Adobe CC Photoshop 2020. How would I print from Photoshop?
You would just print the activated layer and set your document to the proper size for your film.
just found this.. excellent tutorial 👍🏼 now i just need the software 🤣
LOL, or you could do it manually. Have you seen my video how?
not yet..
Hey what does “ground color” In separation studio mean? Is that whatever color shirt you’ll be printing on?
That's correct! In the newer version it's called textile color.
Kenyon Virgil where did you see ground color I can’t find it anywhere
@@1Babemagnent1 It'll be called textile color now.

Do you need special color for the separation studio or can I use the standard plastisol color ink

How do you get pantone code in all colors u need ?
Separation Studio has the Pantone colors already assigned but we really just use the closest color possible.
Does this work for 100 mesh
Sure, but you'll have to use a lower lpi.
In the video you said the template was free however when you go to the website you charge $10 for the template.

good
Not free anymore? Lol
Not at this time.
