Thank you so much you are an absolute lifesaver. My Myford lathe has been in a housefire trying to rebuild 6:30 It couldn’t figure out how to pull the clutch shaft out. Thanks to your TH-cam video. It’s now disassembled.😊
Thanks for the nice comment! Good to know that my videos are of help to others. Just contact me if there is anything you would want to know about the restoration process or specific to the Myford machine. I will try to help out as best I can
be sure that I will, I am in learning process and at present I think there is bit of play on cross slide so I wonder is it easy to make new or order new from England since I am in Australia Thank you?
Thank you Jan... juts managed to take my clutch apart thanks to your video.. unfortunately the Myford manual is not very clear here... the previous owner of the lathe i bought or the previous - previous cos i dont know how many times this lathe has changed hands before me tried to take the clutch apart by "un-screwing" counter clock wise the clutch shaft until it locked and wasn't even clutching anymore... i tried to do the same at first to be honest but thanks to your video now i am a master of the clutch :)
Hi Jan, These videos are superb - -being able to see all the parts during re-assembly is really useful - just what I needed as a rebuild my late fathers 1997 vintage Super 7 Mk 2. I was wondering if you had any difficulty refitting the Anderton 1400 7/8 circlip onto the countershaft after re-installing the clutch, thrust bearing and spacer ? Space seems limited and persuading the circlip to sit snuggly back in the countershaft groove is a challenge. Wondered if there are any "tricks" to ease things just a little during refitting ? I laughed during your video as I also forgot to install the cone pulley and motor guard so re-assembly turned into several disassembly and re-assembly steps - a learning process for sure. Keep up the good work and stay well
Thnks for the nice comments. The circlip assembly is a bit "finicky". You need to insert this loosely onto the shaft, then the woodruff key and the pulley. I usually just slide the pulley along the shaft, moving the circlip until this locates. PS! You need to have the clutch adjustment such that there is bit of "room". Good luck!
Do you know the specification of the two bearings that are inside the clutch assembly pulley at 11 minutes 30 seconds in your video? I have a rumbling noise on my super 7 and maybe it’s these bearings making the noise? I’d like to buy replacement bearings before taking it all apart. Great video series, thanks for taking the time to document what you do. Your restored myfords look superb. Thank you.
Thanks for the nice comment! Glad that the videos are of help. The bearings you need are a pair of these www.myford.co.uk/acatalog/Q110--BALL-BEARING--RHP-PLJ-5-8-RS---73004-3204.html
Hi, many thanks for your videos, just got my hands on a super7 and beginning to disassemble it. Do you have a link to the picture you show at 7.09? Think I'm missing some distance piece in the clutch assembly and that picture would be of great help to figure out which one. I have the manual but the pictures are too small to see how the parts should look.
Thnks for the comment. I had a go searching for the paper you mention, which I evidently have copied and printed.. and put somewhere. Couldn't find it now tonight, but will hav another look. I have guess this only points to the fact I need to be organized better :) However, there is a very good "exploded view" on the Myford web site: www.myford.co.uk/acatalog/info_968.html
@@jansverrehaugjord9934 thanks for quick answer and your efforts to find the picture. I made a screendump from your video, think that might be good enough, will watch your video again and compare with the parts I have.

Hi Jan When I engage my Myford Super 7 mark 2 clutch it makes a short loud squealing sound, then works fine without any issue. Have you come across such a problem? I wonder if I need to take the clutch apart and perhaps clean the clutch cone and bearing surface?
@@jansverrehaugjord9934 Hi Jan. I had another good look and found that the noise only happened when motor is running and the clutch was engaged. If I left the clutch engaged and started the motor there was no noise. Ummm, I thought it must be dirt between the clutch cone and it’s seat. What if I sprayed it with brake cleaner? Well I tried and to my delight it worked. No more squeal. The clutch works beautifully, and quietly too.
