I'm a layman to fossil preparation. I only like to watch it. I also love the air scribing technology, which I think is amazing. According to ZOIC, "...the combination of our T-Rex (powerful) and Microraptor (precision) is an absolute winner, allowing for some incredible prep work." What do you think?
I was expecting that a big chunk of the fossil would break off when you finally removed the smaller fossil. I'm glad that the damage wasn't worse. Regarding your other travails while recording, Murphy's law is the strongest law in the universe.
One recommendation, use an adhesive before you prep, the left genal spine popped off pretty early on. Sometimes it can't be avoided, but it can help a lot if you pinpoint any cracks and seal them before you begin work. Good work though, looks great!
Fossil Prep Blog I don't have any videos for that. I use paleobond glue, but there are alternatives. the basic method is to take a toothpick, needle or something similar and tap the cracks with the glue. The glue should sink into the crack and cure.
amazing! i have a ton of trilobites from the same area that i need to clean up. thanks for sharing this!

Nice specimen. I'm enjoying watching you learn how to do this.
Beautiful work man. I can sympathize

sweet i will give it a try! thanks for the advice.
Regarding the underside; are you sure this isn't a molted shell, rather than an actual animal?
nice video, thank a lot
Well thank you! :)
Interesting video! Yet I think it would be better if you dropped the music and instead let us hear only the sound of the tools you're using.
good
well thank you!
Nice work!
Thanks!!
How can I get that airpen?
All I could think is once it popped out of the matrix he should have flipped it over. That side would have been perfect thanks to nature ;)
Great video
Why did the little trilobite have to go? They stayed together for millions of years, so why not keep them together??? Such a shame...
Is this a original trilobite fossill or a cast of a fossil for learning????
it was embedded in the rock...
All fake
good
