  • "Coach" Taylor visits Soledad prison and tackles the prison crisis one incarcerated persona at a time. Prison reform and human change is possible through the GOGI (Getting Out by Going In) program.
    For more information: gettingoutbygo...
GOGI creates a positive culture shift, which finds its roots in an independent study curricula that can be completed in English or Spanish. GOGI programming helps prisoners live a successful life, both in prison and after, upon their return to broader society. Our materials include several books and exercises that are meant to help them deal with their problems and prepare them to live as part of a community.
The U.S. prison system is not sustainable and more than 90% of all prisoners will be released back into our communities, most with nearly impossible odds of success.
Getting Out by Going In (GOGI) is a positive cultural movement created by prisoners for other prisoners that serves as an alternative to the violence and crime rampant in U.S. prisons. Offered in cost-effective programming, in-cell self-study courses, or correspondence courses, GOGI programming further supports the positive decision-making of the U.S. prison population and better prepares them for success upon their release.
Want to know more about the GOGI (Getting Out by Going In) Program?
GOGI was founded in 2002 when (then psychology student) Dr. "Coach" Taylor began volunteering with a small group of Federal Prisoners at FCI Terminal Island in San Pedro, California, USA. The prisoners were asked what it would take for them to be "successful" when they were sent home.

You all are doing a perfect job, even though most of you didn't have the perfect childhood you all know or should know its the way you all were raised it showed a twisted decisions that you all made in life or shall I say the wrongful roll models. I don't know how to feel about being in prison or keep a positive attitude while your stressing through the years in prison but what I do know is all of you are loved inside there and out. Dean I am very proud of you that you have changed your life around and now a Leader of the pack .. I pray some day that you and most of the men in GOGI will come out and live a at most positive life.. GOD will show all of you the way all of this with LOVE

Every souls of the world deserves a second chance 👍👍Walk away 🚶 🚶 from the satan, then all things would turn out to perfection in life. May God bless those who helped in the system and may there be full transformation of each inmate.

It's about time the CDC is helping direct The Men and Women in the California State Penitentiary System. With Education College courses Career goals parenting guidance classes. I have seen alot of better opportunities for the ones that want a better life style . And starting new Chapter. It takes courage and Maturity to do so. Praise God for opening up there eyes to better them self's for their kids and loved ones .Ppl have to want to change .No body can make them , it's a choice from with in your mind And heart . Even after being hard core Gang members .Props any things possible in life .Living in poverty in a Varrio some times is all We know encouraging our homies and not looking down on them were all human No ones better then any one in life. My mind set at Fifty is alot different then at 14 15 yrs old and running the streets Of The South East L.A Area. It's called being mature Growing up Acting like a women and a Grandmother. Making better choices guiding my loved ones to do Right by Ppl by God. We all have choices bottom line . Sounds like the programs working and helping fellow Inmates get their life 2 together. It takes alot to wanna walk a new Path. And having Faith helps .🙏🙏
