@The_real_LMat no don't keep any guppies or tetras with betta, I've tried many times. What I've come to know is that guppies and tetras are fin nippers. Anything with long or colourful tales they will bite.
I'm currently running a 30 gal, planted (the plants haven't quite taken off yet) with 5 Kohaku Guppies. I have a Male Plakat Galaxy Koi Betta that I had originally built the tank for. I didn't really think I'd have an issue because of the short fins. But the way the guppies nibble on everything and chase each other around it makes me a little nervous. The tanks are right next to each other and they check each other out quite often without flaring or anything like that. I think it's just one of those things where I'm going to have to try and find out, unless you might have any suggestions?
@@natehood9226 I had two mollys in a tank with guppies and they immediately attacked and caused huge issues. One of the mollies died and one of my guppies died before I took them out
@@randombropros9622 Yeah, the males tend to be aggressive to one and another. But females can still be ansty. Especially, if they're different breeds and varieties. It really just depends on the fish.
Man I was skeptical of getting a betta in my 20 gallon tall with 1 bulldog pleco mollies and guppies but I walked in the pet store and saw a crowntail beta that was suffering so I took it home
My betta has fin rot. I have medicated the water and done tons of water changes. I changed the substrate and I added a hiding spot in the tank. I removed all decorations except for the hide and a plant but it's still getting worse. Any advice?
I know this is late, but adding tannins to the water really helps fin rot! So putting driftwood in there and allowing the water to become tea colored is great! Lots of fish prefer tannin water :) and it’s a natural medication for the fish
Three of my dalmation mollies died like mysteriously I’m one day, now there’s one left and I have no idea why; I’ve been water changing regularly; and The temperature is perfect. Does anyone have any predictions why??👇👇👇
Hi!! Im new to this. Been doing this for a month! But I’ve been trying to get educated and learn as much a possible! How regularly? Every 3 or 4 weeks? Have you seen them acting different? Any stuff on their bodies? Swimming funny? How’s their poop? Is it white/creamy color? Have you been putting water conditioner? A quick start should help too. If your last one is sick and we can find out what it is we can maybe find a treatment for it. Do you have a filter? How is your Dalmatian doing with swimming? Swimming at bottom ? Top? Active or not active? Is he eating? Just trying to see what we are dealing with. Would love to help & help you find out the reason
That took a while to read 😅 Anyways my dalmation looks healthy, there’s nothing wrong with their scales, and she is acting healthy, considering she is the last one. The others died right after the other; in three days. Also yes I put in water conditioner I used the Topfin freshwater aquarium starter kit from pet smart with water conditioner and bacteria starter
I forgot she is also eating well and eats most of her flakes, but sometime she spits them out. Should I wash my hands before putting the flakes in the water?
I keep both male and female bettas with guppies. Different tanks of course. No issues. AS long as the betta can get some food. Molly's...eh. Not a molly fan. They breed worse than guppies...Then I ended up with dalmatian looking mollies. Betts IMO get a bad rap.
We've had some chill bettas who were fine with mates, some who were only cool with certain fish, and some that hated everything.

Now the betta killed all the guppies huhu
I've personally kept a betta with mollies in the past and had absolutely no issues
Do you think keeping 1-3 mollys with. A betta in 10 gallon tank is good?
My betta is blind btw
@@LMat_MXif your betta blind then thats good. The betta can't see the mollies color so your betta will not fighting with your molly
@@phaerolstar4717 yeah the only problem is that he cannot find his food I sometimes put food infront if his face and he cannot still find it:/

A lot of my bettas have suffered fin damages from tetras and guppies. Mollies however have been fine for me, no issue.
lol ur cats have attitude
My first tank I had bettas with platy. It was a 3gallon 😬 cringing at my past self.
Can I put a female betta with 1 platy fish?
@Super GabKa if it's a three gallon just one betta if it's a five gallon a betta with two platys.

This might be a bit late, but increase the water temp. How is he doing?
@@kermit9409 he's doing great I've put him in a ten gallon fully planted tank with good hiding spots and the fin rot has cleared up.
I would separate the fish, if you have a quarantine tank
