I assumed Ink still had a small bit of the vials left in him but I'm not sure- if you aren't aware though, without Ink's vials he's like a husk. Meaning he wouldn't respond, move, nothin'. Also he would lose his Ink powers until he has consumed more vials- and apparently he's not killable while in that state (and Ink's colors would fade until he has consumed more of the vials). You should try watching his official backstory and read up on him more lol.
Not to hate I love it but if Ink doesn’t have his vails even for a minute he will stop replying and he will stop moving and talking still it’s so great
