Typically, the things are atoms, molecules, or other compounds. A mole of atoms or molecules is an amount that you can see. In this video, I not only explain what a mole is, but I also explain how to convert from grams to moles and moles to grams. In addition, I demonstrate how to calculate the molar mass of a compound and how to do mole-mass and mass-mole conversions for molecules and other compounds.

The mole is important in chemistry because the mole is a form of measurement that is essential to calculating the number of atoms inside of chemicals and elements. Calculating the number of atoms in elements and chemicals is extremely important in chemicals reactions because it determines the amount of product produced. So without the mole, medicines and important substances critical to human life today would be impossible to obtain.

Is there a mistake on the Lithium page where it mentions 1 gram = 6x10^23 amu? Right under it you wrote 1 lithium atom = 6.94 amu and under that you wrote 1 mole lithium = 6.94 gr. If 1 lithium atom is 6.94 amu and 1 mole is 6x10^23 atoms, then shouldn’t 2 mole be 6x10^23x6.94 and not 6.94 gr?
