INSIDE THE BOX
Inside we find the ICS MGL itself, which is a replica of the real-steel Milkor MGL-140 grenade launcher.
They've been kind enough to include a vertical grip and quick-detach sling mounts.
Beware there are no 40mm grenades included, so stock up on some before your launcher arrives.
Last, but not least, there's a manual, which I find lacking in some areas.
APPEARANCE
Most of the gun is made out of high grade plastic, except for this tube, some screws and other small bits.
Thank heaven for that, since the nades weigh a ton!
MARKINGS
Over to the markings.
The launcher features a serial number above the drum, and since it is ambidextrous it has Safe and Fire markings on both sides.
The omnipresent Picatinny gives me a myriad of mounting options. Use them all!
It doesn't have to make sence.
And the included vertical grip is easily adjusted with the push of a button. On top of this, the vertical grip has a removable panel , so one can easily attach a pressure plate for a flashlight or laser.
FEATURES
The tolerances on this launcher are pretty good, apart from the odd rattling on the rear.
This is largely because the stock is adjustable in length by 6 positions, and in elevation by 3 positions, so you can comfortably aim at your desired range.
As I mentioned before there no grenades included. And most 40mm grenades differ by make and model. The great thing about this launcher is that the firing pin can be adjusted with a regular 3mm allen key to make the firing pin protrude more or less.
WALKTHROUGH
I decided to end this video with a walkthrough. Since the manual is missing some important info.
Let see how she handles.
I flip the fire selector to safe,
Rotate the locking plate all the way to right,
I pull the lever forward and hold it while I swing the rear body to the right so I can access the drum.
I Turn the drum counter-clockwise to put tension the spring. Time to load my grenades.
Then I can close it up.
I Turn the locking plate all the way to the left.
Flip the selector to fire.
I am now ready to shoot.
When I am done, I use the spring release latch to unwind the drum.
That's it. I can hear my opponents screaming already.
I suggest MAG POM shower shells. Very economical and lightweight.

Contrast to how most airsoft pistols and rifles are either spring action gas blowback or electric, how does this operate? Do each of the Grenade shells have gas in them? And how do you refill the shells after each use?
Depends on the kind of shell you buy. They can either be filled with CO2 or greengas, or niche ones can be filled with compressed air and so forth. They require to be refilled and reloaded after firing, so basically redo the entire procedure when visiting the safe zone.

i thought it were the shells went flying first and then go spreading BB bullets... turned out the BBs were shot out..
I am working on a more interesting approach to this MGL. Bigger, better... more environmentally friendly. Stay tuned!
yes, imagine a launcher that fires ThunderBs.
I guess you could always just buy some tag innovation launcher shells for this so you can rain down bb bombs and smoke grenades on your opponents
you think you could do a disassembly of the rotating mechanism? im trying to recreate it in my own model.
it looks like when the trigger is depressed, it hits one of six sears that hold it in place with a bar, and then it rotates after the bar retracts back into the trigger unit,

I will put it on my to-do list. A complete disassembly of the entire ICS MGL. Sadly it won't be prioritised.

It can fire any 40mm gas shells. Moscart, airsoft, paintball, smoke... there is no inner barrel or associated bits to worry about.
