  • Here is a quick video I made showing my dog cart. I used electrical conduit and an old bike trailer. I bought her harness from Black Ice dog sledding online.

    Awesome we made a itty bity cart out of a milk crate and some scrap dowels we had and wheels from one of those baby jogger strollers. Looking to upgrade all that to something like this! Your dog is gorgeous btw! thanks for sharing this!

    @anynameplease She pulls the load great. I haven't put enough weight in it to see what is too much. But two kids around 30-40 lbs each are really easy for her.
    I also have a dog pack for her that I bought at the same place I bought her harness. I use it in the summer on tight trails.

      Huskies are highly vocal, high energy dogs. She's whining bc she wants to pull NOW! They get bored easily. Not for everyone.

    How did you know what angle to bend the poles at? Was it trial and error or did you have a formula?

    This is so cool! Exactly what I'm looking to do with my dog. I been looking for harnesses but am struggling to find the right kind of thing...any chance you could post the link to where you bought this? Black Ice doesn't come up for me when I search for it.

    I used electrical conduit, then welded on the short posts that make up the brakes.

      Did you just use steel cable ties to attach the poles to the trailer? I can't quite see in the video what type you've used. Cheers!

      do you have any idea how to make breaks on the actual wheels, I've got something similar due to neuropathy in feet/legs, my Spoo is great but on rare occasion can still get overexcited and I need to be able to manually break so he will stop.

    Why the prong collar? If you can't teach your dog rules and manners to stop pulling, then that should be your top priority. It can make the trip and your exp with your dog much better. I hope you can continue to build your dog's relationship with you.

    I use a HALTI for my husky, no more pulling and is kinder than a prong collar which is barbaric.

      CAROL HIRD no they are not..I use a prong collar with my SDIT.. soon as her prong collar goes on she knows it is time to work and will ignore everything a well-trained dog with a prong collar will not pull.. and what people don't seem to understand with these callers is they are wrist movement collars if you are using your whole arm then you are doing it wrong/it is in the wrong spot.. these collars are to be worn up high close to their ears and not on their throat.. where is this dog prong collar was placed is the wrong spot it is also a cheap Petsmart prong collar.. yes there is actually a difference between a cheap collar and a good collar.. Herm Sprenger Makes true prong collars they always have perfectly rounded prongs and the prongs do not go in the same direction they go the same direction on one side and same direction on the opposite side..I also use a halti with my other husky

      Harvey Jackey we have a dogger jogger to run our dog with. she loves to pull on the bike and Sprint with it. every time she sees us touch the dogger jogger she runs to the door, jumps up and down, spins circles, and whines. when we leash her to take her outside on the bike, she pulls and continued whining, much like this dog. she does this until we have her hooked up and finally take off. then she's happy as can be. she simply LOVES to run and pull and she know the contraption allows her to do so. I don't think this dog is unhappy with anything other that being held still.

    Stop using prong collars. If you can't train, read a book

      Mr chips k Lol, my Husky does the same thing. Cause she has to pull? Quite the opposite! She runs like mad and her whole face us full of joy when she can run. Just like in this video, it's when I hold her back she whines and cries. I never had to teach her to start pulling, it was getting her to stop that was the chore! I disagree with using a prong collar though. Especially when the dog is in harness. Most huskies adore pulling, regardless. No different to how a lot of dogs love hiking, swimming, playing fetch, etc.

      Not poor dog. She was crying because she wanted to start pulling the trailer. That's what I saw at least.

      Mr chips because ita in her nature to be a sled dog...

    • @FinallyMe78
      @FinallyMe78  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because the cart uses wheels with bearings, it is really easy to pull with any kind of weight. It actually never got her tired because we didn't go far or fast enough and she never had enough weight. It was much better when I hooked her up to a sled. Then there was enough resistance to make her have to use effort.

      You obviously know NOTHING about huskys, or dog behavior. Jesus christ the IGNORANCE in this comment section. This is a SLED PULLING BREED! Only thing she is "crying" about being held still. She is ready to go! She wants to PULL! Its literally in her blood... I guarantee she is the happiest when she is pulling. Poor dog doing what she was bred to do. Someone call the police 😟😶😆 lol

  • @lotsoflove5378

    that poor fucking dog it needs booties or shoes and why do you need a prong collar? he clearly does not like it

    • @kendallhuff6012
      @kendallhuff6012 ปีที่แล้ว

      🙄🙄🙄🙄
      Lol she is a damn HUSKY. No, she doesn't need dog shoes, or "fucking booties" 😆
      It's a sled PULLING dog....like in Alaska? Ya know, that really cold place where snows a lot, and temps reach extreme lows? This dog is a cold hearty breed....no shoes required. I literally chuckled at the ignorance you displayed here.
      Also, gtfoh with that prong collar bs. When used CORRECTLY they do not cause harm, and are highly tools to train working dogs, or any dog in general. (Huskys are so hard headed, and stubborn... )
      You really think this beautiful baby is whining cuz her feet are cold, and/or the collar is hurting her? She wants to RUN! She wants to pull the trailer she is hooked up too.. It's in her blood to do so...she is READY TO GO! Not cold, or in ANY pain 🤣🤦 Ignorant people kill me with these type of comments.
      You really over there b!t©hing about her feet? I highly encourage you do a bit of research 😆
