I been door knocking on doors over 25 years and stil do it today , One thing you should never ever do is exstand your hand for a hand shake , that's way to close to the customer , Always stay 10 feet away from the door after knocking or ringing the door bell , The customer will always feel better knowing your 10 feet away to give them plenty of time to close thier door, If your right there in thier face exstandijg your hand , that's a no no ,
Guys be careful with leaving business cards or flyers at peoples doors. I just went to distribute cards door to door yesterday and immediately someone called me asking me for my permit to distribute “ Handbills”. I didn’t know I needed a permit to distribute cards door to door in Dallas. The lady, Ms.Cathy was sweet and told me to get a permit before any of her neighbors reported me to the local police. I was bummed but of course for the sake of growing my business, legally, I went to the Police Department to apply for a “ handbill distribution permit” . G’luck guys 😁
@@YourUncle8501 yeah that's crazy, in Virginia when I had my lawncare business I would go house to house, knock on doors and if they answer, I'd talk to them tell them I am starting up a lawncare business and looking for more clientele and offer one time, weekly, biweekly and monthly services... if nobody answers I would roll up a flyer and put it in the screen door doorhandle, or between the door knob and wall frame. I would never put anything in the mailbox because it's considered federal property and you can get fined.
If only all the Karen’s in this world would just leave to another planet. It’s insane that it’s even a thing to get a permit to give a business card. Thanks for the heads up
“I know how I feel when somebody does the ding dong” had me laughing!! Awesome content, thank you for being a great help for people like myself with growing their buisness
it's so fucking awkward and depressing walking up to strangers houses with "I'M begging you/Trying to sell you something stamped on my forehead"... do what you got to do... I had to do this when I first started but I am so damn glad that is over with.... I averaged one sell out of 15-20 houses I knocked on... I went for obviously dirty ones.... it was a rough road to walk. for sure.
Believe it or not sometimes the best marketing is the one where you wear the dirty clothes you used to clean the neighbors house with. Works for me all the time.
My friend there is way too much talking, I do the same thing for window cleaning in the UK here is my pitch, Door opens Hand them your leaflet. Hi we regularly clean windows for a few of your neighbours in your street, would you like yours clean too, as we can give you a free quote today if you need a window cleaning service. So it’s a yes no maybe so if they want more information then you can give it to them if they don’t move onto the next customer.
You will get into trouble with the post office if you leave it in the mailbox without postage! Print them with an EDDM label on them already and THEN leave it in the mailbox. ;)
Joe G Over here they want a background check finger prints and only if you pass they will give you the permit as a solicitation License which will also need to be paid for in only one county. Every county would need pretty much the same info give or take. It’s not that easy if it was I would of knock on every door I see.
Good afternoon, My name is So and So and I am with So and So company and I'd like to ask you a simple question. Do you have anything in serious need of power washing or cleaning? I am offering this service today in this neighborhood and would like to put you down on the schedule. If today is not a good time to talk, could I get your name and number and maybe check back with you at a later date. Regardless, here is my business flyer with our contact info and you can call us anytime to schedule a thorough cleaning to get your property looking the best on the block. Have a good day and God Bless.
It’s okay, it is not personal. The potential client is rejecting your service not you. Best way to handle a hesitant customer is to leave a positive impression and leave the door open to any of their future needs.
Cody, as a professional and very successful d2d sales person for 23 years, with that being said, couple of pointers....don't EVER use the phrase "be interested"....nobody is interested....it's your job as a sales person to educate and create the interest....the part where you say you hate people knocking on your door selling....well my friend that's a horrible attitude to have, considering you've done the same and are creating door to door content on TH-cam!! Come on brother, that's very hypocritical and degrades the profession as a whole! You should learn to absolutely LOVE knocking on doors!!!!! And neber ever ever stop!! We sell water treatment in Valdosta Ga amd surrounding areas and use all forms of advertising....BUT....knocking doors is time tested, amd it ABSOLUTELY works!!!! I knocking doors ebery single day and have made a tremendous living at it. Funny, we have the same last name lol. Anyways bro....keep up the good work and polish up on thise d2d skills!!! It's a very perishable skill!!!!

Depends the customer, if you catch them outside of their house and spark a natural conversation you can walk up to them and shake their hand.

How did you get customers when u stopped going from door to door
Im getting started this year as the weather breaks. I pray God bless me to be successful 🙏
Thanks for the vid. Would be cool to see a practiced salesman in this situation. Not that you’re not good it’s just there are levels to this for sure
Keep in mind your not selling them anything....your offering them a SERVICE!!!!
That’s actually a really good point.
In no solicitation neighborhoods I say I am leaving information
That is solitication/selling lmao. Are you daft?
Great job. Only downfall is, it's a federal offense to put personal mail in others mailboxes. I found this out the hard way. Haha.
Use door hangers
Tuck it in on their mailbox flag.
Fold the flyer and put it in the crack of the door eye level height
Believe it or not sometimes the best marketing is the one where you wear the dirty clothes you used to clean the neighbors house with. Works for me all the time.
I will try that.
Kinda makes sense, people will feel more comfortable than a salesman looking guy. Idk about yall but i hate people trying to sell me things
Thank you for taking the time out and making this video great job best of luck 👍👍

You look like a Preacher! Lol. Wear your Soft Washing uniform.
Would you recommend using flyers or door hangers out the place in order just looking for advice thanks man love the channel????? And the new lotus LOL
I would use door hangers if they don't answer, and I would use the flyers or brochures for when they do answer!
If 3% of 10% of SH mix safe on window’s? And will it kill plant’s? Please and thank you 🙏
What do you do when a kid answers the door?
Helpful...thank you!
are you part of the clergy
If I may ask how do you determine the price of a roof wash?
likeliness of injury
Size, how dirty, time to do it, and then danger.
Most of your talking points were about your experience. What if we don't have that experience?
Call you the Professor!
Why website did you use for this business card? I want to design one with photos of finished work.
He said vistaprint
Thank u
Good video
Good stuff
My mother in law actually bought a Kirby vacuum cleaner from a guy going door to door. When we found out we were all like 🤷🏻♂️
Taylor Albaugh 😂 those dudes are super annoying
Southeast Softwash I know! Lol and it was something like $3,000 for it, too!
To be fair, they are great vacuums
Haha I used to sell Kirby sweepers, good marking skills bra 👍👍
Kirby sells taught me alot about customer service..one on one👍👍👍
Now, if it's a Jehovah's Witness that's selling Kirby vacuum cleaners, sucks, I might have to invite them in. What's the odds of that happening?
Stickong stuff in people's driveway is actually a federal offense

Isn’t this Illegal to go door to door without a Soliciting license?
Leo’s Engineering no
Depends on the area. In my town a $25 permit is required to solicit door to door, I doubt they have ever sold a single one though.

Don’t waste your time doing door to door if you leave at “I’m busy right now” 🤦🏻♂️
