    The I3 is rear-wheel-drive, so is the plan to drive the front wheels with the bike engine? That is quite a challenge.

    • @Jerod_Helt
      @Jerod_Helt  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The plan is to have both the electric motor and bike engine in the back.

    • @ratmanbrian
      @ratmanbrian ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jerod_Helt That is not easy. I applaud your ambition. It is pretty much scratch building a whole double drivetrain. Please don't delay and post everything. I can't wait. I had an idea that might work. Mount the bike engine with it's own diff that is parallel with the existing diff. Then connect the two diffs with two chain drives, each connecting of the matching output flanges of the two diffs. But, the output flanges might not be adequately supported to carry the side loadings of a chain drive. Oh well. Maybe not. Back to the drawing board.

    • @Jerod_Helt
      @Jerod_Helt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ratmanbrian the existing drivetrain is off to one side already so the placement is not a problem but the differential situation is the biggest unknown at this point.

    • @ratmanbrian
      @ratmanbrian ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jerod_Helt I think you might have to remove the electric drive and install a completely new chain drive diff. ( maybe can use the internals from an i3 diff to preserve the geometry.). Then reinstall the electric drive with a solid shaft through the original diff so that you can chain drive the new diff from the original ( now locked) diff. Adding the bike engine then has several options.

    Watching a 24 fps judder fest with ZERO motion blur makes me want to gouge my eyes out. Try 30fps 1/50th shutter, and shutter priority mode auto exposure or whatever you have to do to lock the shutter speed so you have proper motion blur next time. Love the Fiat, though. Honestly, I couldn't decide between a Honda, Fiat, or Triumph (or if there's something similar that I don't know of) if I were gonna do a similar build.
