    Filming and skating by me. For anyone curious, my settings are all hardcore with manual catch and all that good stuff.
    Here's my new part from the first HALFTONE SKATEBOARDS full-length. The guys put in A LOT of work and I'd really appreciate it if you check out the full video linked below and share the love:

      That's really cool man! Definitely worth checking out the game if you can afford it. The beauty of Session is that you can customize the settings for any kind of play style. You can go super realistic and struggle A LOT or you can use auto catch and all that to make it simple and fun. But yeah, definitely be ready to bail a lot in the beginning. This game takes a lot of patience, especially if you end up trying to record/film nice looking clips with the amazing built in replay editor. Good luck! If you've got questions in the future, shoot them my way, maybe I can help you out.🛹🤜

      Thanks dude! Haha glad you mentioned that clip. One of my favorites. That's what I was going for in my head yes. Some Silas Baxter-Neal influences going on definitely. It's super hard to make these wallrides look decent, this one took me days to get it looking like that. Battling crashes and weird bugs. It's all fun though! 🔥🛹

    Sick selection and great filing (especially the b rolls)!! Can tell your grind alignment should be pretty low for some of these to look this natural! Only critique I have is sometimes the camera pans, rotates and shakes way too aggressively, which is kinda odd when you consider that camera men buy special equipment which kinda reduces those motions quite a bit. This is almost more of a nitpick due to the words realism. There are points like 0:59 where it worked but after that, it was just too noticeable on the baby pop. I don’t know if I’m making sense 😅

    • @part-time-ninja
      @part-time-ninja  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for watching! I really appreciate the well thought out comment. I agree with you but I still want to explain the way I approach Session filming. The camera shake and not perfectly smooth filming is very much intentional. The way I see it is the filmer is interacting with the same world the skater is in. Also he is filming handheld with the camera in hand and if you've ever done that in real life you will see how much the camera moves while skating around with it. In my video, the camera shakes more when the filmer is "pushing" trying to keep up with or get in front of the skater. Now - if the filmer encounters a curb he needs to "ollie" up it and again, if you've ever tried to ollie with a heavy camera in hand you will see what happens. It shakes, quite a lot. Depending on the skill level of course. And in my opinion, that is a good thing. That's what gives skate videos that natural look that I personally enjoy.
      As a filmmaker in real life I have access to camera gimbals and drones etc that would make skate filming super smooth but that is not what I want to imitate in Session. I try to imitate a more natural and organic filming style where the filmer also has to navigate the environment. It's not a bad thing to make everything look insanely smooth (like a Ty Evans skate video nowadays) but that's personally not what I enjoy at the moment. IF I was imitating a drone video angle (which I have) it's going to be super smooth and witout any kind of horizontal shake.
      As for grind alignment, it is usually very low, 2 or 3 and sometimes 0 for fun. Thank you again so much for watching. 🤝

      @Lone_tof ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@part-time-ninja I totally get what you mean, however, I didn’t necessarily mean take away the shakiness, almost impossible to get rid of camera shake in skate videos. I just meant that it’s super aggressive. Look forward to more of you’re stuff!!!

    bro this was absolutely crazy. amazing work homie, also, how do u wallride? do you need to have primos enabled? anytime my character so much as even just touches the wall they'll just fall off their board

    • @part-time-ninja
      @part-time-ninja  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks dude! Really glad you liked the video. As for wallrides, they are some of the most inconsistent things in the game. Usually they bug out a lot and it is very hard to get any of them to look at least somewhat real. Usually they end up looking weird as hell. For me, most of them don't pass as a realistic clip but depending on your video, you can still have fun with them. One setting that is going to help you is the "Enable skater physics" option - turn that OFF/Disabled. Wallrides will be more forgiving when it comes to bailing but the animations will look a bit wonky. Using primos is one method that people use - I personally don't use that at all - just doesn't look anything like a real life wallride.
      Depends on the situation/wall but usually you can start getting results if you approach a wall at an angle and then ollie into it and input for smith grinds or feebles, while rotating away from the wall a bit with the triggers or the sticks. Also you can try to input for a manual/nosemanny and then add the second input to make the skater turn/pivot off the wall kind of. Same thing applies to flips into them etc. Of course your high ollie/gravity settings will help you a lot so depending on your play style, mess around with those as well if you need to make the attempts a bit easier. Also, there are some settings for the pitch and scoop angle - if you increase those then you'll maybe be able to tweak the board a bit more, especially for flips into wallrides.🥷

    How do you walk ride? I have tried, it seems to only work on slightly inclines (not a true wall), or it will glitch and put me completely on the wall so that I fall face flat on ground hit.

    how do you hippie flip and hippie jump in this game? I don't see it anywhere in the settings

    • @part-time-ninja
      @part-time-ninja  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Those are tricks that you just have to know how to do. Hippie flips are easier - make sure you tweak the board to body distance settings and flip your tricks a bit slower. It takes patience.
      Hippie jump is a different beast, you pretty much have to force the game to do something it doesn't want to do 😁 Again mess with the board to body distance and Ollie height settings. Also make sure to turn on late tricks in the flip settings. Then once you Ollie, let go of the inputs quickly and reapply front foot up or back foot down.
