I think many overlook the cinewhoop capabilities of the Avata series, it really simplified a lot of the flying from the previous home/custom built drones (ie. For villa/real estate, one shot filming use). With the angled rearward sensors (which should help altitude hold) and the improved camera I really think the Avata 2 will be a step forward in that regard.
I bought the entire Explorer Combo and Fly More kit for the AVATA 1 last week, I haven't unboxed a thing and decided today to send EVERYTHING BACK... including ND filters and extra props to purchase the NEW AVATA 2. 😂😂😂 CHEERS! 🍻
I learned fpv on the liftoff simulator from steam, it even has the dji drones in it so u can get a feel for their exact controls in manual. it took me about 40 hours to get good
Stuart and Alina is back in action! Only now they have superhero flying skills that they are working on and doing a great job thanks to DJI looking forward for more videos after the dizziness stops ha ha ha😅
I worry about latency. If you think you are in one space say making a turn, but latency is off a bit . Have you found any latency while flying the new Avata 2 ? I love your location. So beautiful. Great videos !
you're my first look; looks impressive- BUT.... i'll stick on the carbon path i'm laying out this year for FPV 😊 as i like proximity a little toooo much. Fun review, glad to see your skills so much improved (no ghost branches or waterfalls "yet" at least) ✌🏻
This is a serious question. I'm blind in one eye. Are the goggles stereoscopic, or are the images identical on the left and right so there is no "3D" effect? I'm assuming the feed comes directly from the camera (?) so the goggle feed is not stereoscopic, but would appreciate if anyone has a definitive answer.
Great question! Might be something that the drone manufacturers need to consider - maybe including the power to switch off one lens and just using the other for feedback?
Great to see you here Ian! Later in the video (during the "whoopsie" moments), I'd messed up by keeping the ND16 on and assuming I could just hammer the shadows in post. I was trying to retain the detail in the sky but overcooked it. Added to that, with no sun on the landscape and just one colour in the grass, the footage was so flat and lifeless so we were really disappointed with it but that was down to poor exposure choice on my part plus unhelpful light. I'd say the image is pretty good and comfortably exceeds any required standard to blend with other cameras. When the original DJI FPV came out you could tell that the camera just wasn't quite up to the mark but the Avata 2 is fine (as was the Avata 1).
I think mixing footage from the avata 2 with mini 4 or air three would work great. Especially that drift move. I think the flip could kind of work as a transition between landscapes. Fly up to over a mountain ledge, flip to reveal the valley or sea. want want want.
I don't know. Seems like the attraction of FPV was that it didn't have an easy mode and you had to graft and crash and learn and try again to master it. This is like a training-wheels FPV.
Yeah…I bought all the accessories, remote controls, chargers, batteries, cameras, frames, circuit boards, wiring, motors, props, and ESC’s…and I built, crashed, destroyed, and LOST ~15 FPV drones, before I said, F it…and bought the original MAVIC…and, finally I had fun flying a drone. DJI just makes it easy.
@@pauljoseph8338 I had a similar experience. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg to waste hours fixing stuff. I'll pay that money for all fly time.
Try taking those goggles off. The graphis will be extreme high resolution in 3D with zero lag. Eye tracking and extreme wide FOV. My point is....why look at the world through a potato camera while you're standing right in it?
Just wondering, do the goggles support the DJI flight simulator? Actually, have DJI considered adapting these goggles for VR/augmented reality/gaming? You have friends at DJI, you should ask 😁
Back soon.....just got a load of other Avata2 video notifications to delete. 5+ hours later (01.45am BST) Sorry. Got distracted with some other stuff. Anyway, you were having WAY TOO MUCH fun for a dreich day in the glen. Worth waiting for, and glad to have learnt that "Woopsie" is still in use. Not too much tech detail, which I appreciate, because I can read a manual / webpage for that info if I need to. Does it fit my needs? Not yet, but it was good to see them (DJI) catering better for the starter market and putting some fun into the FPV arena.
Doesn't that cost like 150 dollars more than the original? Looking into buying an AVATA, but I feel like I'm going for the original cuz I don't wanna spend to much on another drone that is fairly better. Of course the new one is better, but I don't have that money while the original AVATA serves its purpose at least.
Not interested. Good chance DJI will be banned in the states soonish and the states lapdog the UK will most likely follow suit. Thanks for your time though...every drone yoooootooooober now hopping on the ...'is this the best drone ever..is this the best fpv beginner drone blah blah blah....quite amusing really just to get the likes in /clicks in as another new drone comes out...same old same old same old. Buy at your peril.
I don't think they'll be able to totally ban dji. Way too many departments use them because they are fairly cheap and super easy for anybody to use. Plus, no other company is close for the $ or the ease of use and capability. I can see the government mandating the use of separate controllers from phones for use. That would keep intrusive app data sniffing, but if China wants map data, they have this app called Google Maps. Plenty of ways to get map data out there. Phones full of other stuff would be my concern.
Easy Acro flips and rolls would be more interesting to watch if they were in slow motion, otherwise it’s too quick to even know what happened. Drift is the only interesting one without slomo.
@@DroneFilmGuide flips have to be done quick because this drone is not capable of 3D movement (ie; cannot spin its propellers in reverse). So I doubt that flips specifically would be getting any slower. That’s why I think slomo editing is the way to go. By the way “slide” is just normal mode (if you press the joystick it “slides” up down left right).
Its the highlander movie location where highlander lived with Heather to the left of where Steward and Alina are stood!!!! @ 01:10 !!!

That was the one I used too. Think I was on it about 10 hours which wasn't enough.
What do you think Stewart? Is it worth to buy only the Avata 2, when i already own the Googles Integra and the RC Motion 2?
Neither of those will work with the avata 2.

Hey! I wouldn't say there is a latency issue to be honest. For a digital system it's very good.

He'll be flying it like Maverick soon - "hit the brakes and he'll fly right by". 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great comment @lambo_drives!! Top marks for loyalty to the channel and knowing our original video! MUCH appreciated!!
Such a genuine review, I like it, thanks!
Great video, good to see people having fun with this drone!

Loving the “whooooopsie” sound effects!! Great review and video as always. Is the video footage good or just good enough?

Scotland - such a beautiful place. I completed the Pinnine Way there (South to North) ... Unforgettable. Thanks for the excellent video.
It seems like the Avata 2. has added some nice features, as well as a muck improved camera. Great test flight, thanks for sharing.
Happy to see Alina again
Any plans to make a video showing different lav mics on the DJI mic 2? I’m really hoping they fixed the issue you pointed out on the mic 1.

Nothing wrong with making it accessible and then having a manual switch so you can do it the hard way when you feel confident.

you didn't mention you can change settings using the remote too

Always good to read your comments!
I like your videos, if i where to get the Avata 2 I would take a portable stool, sit down and fly.
How is ti in windy situations ? (compared to Avata 1)
I'd say it's the same.
@@DroneFilmGuide so it's so so for more windy adventures and travel situations 😅
What a beautiful place to be :) love the video :D
Very good video Stuart
Too funny in Glencoe valley !! Love this new drone. Take care to my 100 feets parcel just next to you, my Laird!
im excited for mine to arrive any day now, as an "fpv hack" myself😂😂

Favorite review. Thank you! 🙏🏻
I want to do a waterfall dive :(
let m e have it
You clearly have a sterile environment, so no spotter needed.

It would be nice if the speed of the manoeuvre varied in response to the input on the joystick. I suspect this feature will evolve a lot over time.
