Rahul, With each video you climb a new bar, but this rendition was a milestone in itself, a new high that none should miss. Not simply because you are able to interpret your grandfather's songs better (its your legacy) but also because of your own sheer honesty, your own talent and your own versioning of this iconic "Katyar" song. For example, I just loved the unplugged piano chords, so I cant decide whether you are a good musician or a great teacher in the way you explain the 3 different Thumri types & history behind it so well or the singer in you. A small story here, I was in about 3rd or 4th grade when my father used to drag me to "Katyar"'s prayogs at either Shivaji Mandir or Sahitya Sang. And they used to play back to back, extremely popular & a treat. Pt. Tulsidas Borkar used to play the "organ" (the bigger version of the harmonium used for sangeet naataks). My father used to learn music from him, so we always used to get the best seats in the front row. I was too small to understand music but I vividly remember Dr Deshpande's gaayaki and the "daad" & applause he used to get. I remember the "fire" scene so well done, its etched in my mind, and so are the songs. Thank you for doing this session for your fans, and keep at it. BTW true that when I heard this during the evening, the effect of the Thumri is magnificent. Best wishes always!
