    Solo travel is the best. Trip I took to Italy alone was one of the best most relaxing times of my life.

    I love this vlog because you aren't trying to travel in luxury, you are doing things that make YOU happy.. not just for the trend if that makes sense.

    • @CarterSullivan

      That makes total sense! Most people get annoyed when they come across my travel vlogs because I'm not a huge foodie, I don't do expensive things etc but I think that's what makes travelling so unique- we all do what we love. I've always made it a mission to share that it's possible to travel on a budget and truly my favourite thing to do is just roam around new places and explore! At the end of the day, the things I love at home (coffee, books, thrifting etc) are what I love on trips too!! I think that's why I'm not a beach girl haha I love exploring!
      I'm so glad that how I feel comes across in the video, that makes me so happy. It can be so tricky sometimes to watch content and truly understand a person and so I love these comments, it really means a lot!

    I love doing things alone as well. I started with just doing staycations where I would mostly stay in the hotel overnight. I would carry a good book and order room service. Then I started travelling to other cities and exploring them and it was so calming. I still don't step out alone at night but I go around and try local food and it's very relaxing!

      I totally agree that it's always best to work your way up with solo travel! I kinda had to jump in off the deep end since I started travelling for my corporate job but I haven't ventured anywhere further than 5-6 hours away yet!! I feel the same, I'm a very weary person so I haven't built up the confidence to go out at night but I still have a great time none the less!!

    Glad you had a good time! The Drake isn’t in Liberty Village though, that area is just Queen West. LV is Dufferin/King to Strachan/Gardiner :)

    If you want to explore/stay in a different part of the city in the future you should try the Broadview Hotel in Leslieville. It’s a super cute neighbourhood in the east end that has a bit of a village feel

    Love Liberty Village/Queen West/Roncesvalles (Ron-sez-veils/or just Roncy because it's spanish and even Torontonians say it wrong lol)! If you ever come back in the summer try and check out Shakespeare in High Park, it's a magical experience on a summer night!

    You 1000% saved with the car rental and parking Ubers are ridiculous here!
    But yes I agree if you’re staying in the core or Toronto parking is through the roof however everything is pretty walkable.

    • @CarterSullivan
      @CarterSullivan  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I learned that the key is a last-minute car rental! I looked the week before I was coming. It was like $150 and then the day before I was coming I looked again and it was $47! And because I knew I was doing stuff, kind of a long the outskirts, and you would be more bang for my buck to get a car!! But like you said yeah, definitely if you're staying downtown core area everything is walkable, but I have course wanted to do everything that was all over the place in typical chaotic Carter fashion😂

      I also love to thrift but I said specifically in this video that vintage curated stores/flea markets have higher prices. I never said I paid that much for a shirt just saying those are the prices in Ottawa at these curated vintage markets!!

    I'd like to travel alone, but thought of unsafety worries me. Gonna try to prepare more to build the confidence to do so.

    • @CarterSullivan
      @CarterSullivan  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That was probably my biggest concern at first! However, I found that finding a safe area, spending a bit more on a hotel that is a bit smaller and boutique so they kind of know who's coming in and out etc helped me! It's also why I get a rental car even though it is a City because I just feel safe driving places and I don't go out at night by myself!

    • @adorabao.studio
      @adorabao.studio 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@CarterSullivan Great advice I never thought of smaller hotels being safer, but I see it!
