Luz did find happiness, The Collector.
She found a lot of things worth fighting for. Friends, family, a girlfriend, and two worlds she loves… Albeit she may love the Demon Realm a bit more. They’re all her reason to live, her reason to be… happy.

In fact these days I have been thinking that Luz's father is going to be the one to help her start to get out of the current state of depression, In series of this type, it is almost always the people who are no longer there that motivate the protagonist to keep going.

This is why we should have characters like her. Some that have their own personal problems and let them know that yeah the world you live in is wrong, but some good will come out of it. Luz made great friends, a awesome girlfriend, and a newfound family. She even got the Clawthrones closer than ever. No other fictional character I know has ever done stuff like that.
So the Collector gave Luz a happy little world. And she chose reality with all its ups and downs. A kid like the Collector would not understand at all.
Luz accomplished more in the demon realm than she would have on earth. If she ever thinks she made a mistake by figuring out the glyph system, making real friends and HAVING a cotton candy haired GF, then pls, someone, tell her that she ain't a mistake.

The Boiling Isles was once a far more pleasant and friendlier place when Belos/Phillip first arrived, which means that his manipulative and deceitful nature is what turned the isles into the Social Darwinist and more callous society it is today, all thanks to Luz's actions. Now, she does everything to set things right.
This comic was one of the most emotional comics that Morningmark has created because honestly. This just feels real. For me in particular I just feel really different from when I was younger for better or worse
Luz has changed so much when we first met her. Ever since she came to the Boiling Isles, she has grown strong, made new friends, family, even found herself a girlfriend that loves her for who she is. Times may be tough for her right now, but she won't give up in not only saving both worlds, but the people she cares for and the best part is, she won't be fighting alone. I don't know how this story will end, but Luz and everyone else will make sure that the ending will be a happy one.

Pain can be one of the greatest teachers in life, but only if one has the strength to face that pain and see the lessons to be learned.
That totally sounds like something the Collector would do. Especially with that much power.
Best guess, the Collector puts Luz a fantasy dream where everything’s sunshine and lollipops, but didn’t take into account her conscious or true/mature version of herself reminding her of the good things in real life.(I would’ve thought Amity, and possibly others would have entered Luz’s mind to wake her up.)
Luz learned what her true happiness is. Her true reality. Her perfect world.
Being herself? Because that’s what would make her perfect, being all the parts that Luz herself.

Based on the last comic by Morning Mark and this, it seems we’re getting a series where the entire HexSquad are put in their own Dream bubbles where they live out the fantasy lives they want (like Mabel’s bubble in Gravity Falls)

I love how the Collector tried to "Mable Land" her and she just no-sold it.
Sometimes it’s too easy to remember the bad in life in spite of the good that happened. Even when the good outnumbers bad. It says a lot when you can remind yourself of all the good, and when you have others doing that too.
Luz is the incarnation of everything I seek in character growth. I'm so proud of our little girl. She's turning into such a beautiful and respectable young woman.
Wow. Excuse me. I didn't expect to watch this and sob as I listen to the music in the background. I can understand how Luz feels, wanting the perfect world but she's right, the rain in life can help us find happiness.

This is such a tragic situation. Luz wants more than almost anything for her dad back. We see how much she's ripped apart when she can no longer visit her mother at all, and we know how much pain Grom brought her, seeing what she went through when confronted about her choosing the Demon Realm (or at least wanting to) over the Human Realm. She has gained so much - she has friends for the first time, anoter family who welcomes and appreciates her, just like her mother, a girlfriend she's deeply in love with, and a world beyond her wildest dreams to explore.
I imagine, it was tempting to want to stay in the world of her fantasies, desperatly grasping and holding onto the things she holds dear, instead of holding tight on those she still has, and going out and making more than she could ever imagine. This comic makes me feel so sad inside, and I'm so fortunate to feel that - just as Luz is fortunate to still understand what it's like to hold people dear. I really know she'll get better - she has so much to keep ahold of in the real world. Even if she can live in a world where she never lost anyone, living in a world where that's reality is something she can't change, and all she can do, all she needs to do, is reach out and grasp the people she still can. She can keep living, even without those she's held most dear, because there is always someone else who needs her love.
I'm so proud of you luz you found inner peace and have grown so much. You've become a much stronger person an inspiration. The knights of lumity are in awe of your light and we will forever be at your side learning from your past present and future along with amity. You are a good person and an even better wich you are a true hero. To quote an old saying “a true hero isn't measured by the size of their strength.but by the strength of their heart” continue to be a symbol of hope a symbol of acceptance to be the spear that punctures through the fear and paranoia of today's society and spread your message to love yourself instead of hating. Life with sunshine and rainbows sounds cool, but what kind of life is it without setbacks that give to knowledge where is the point of all conundrums which hinder making next step into unknown, also causing that this happy life is empty, emotionless and monotonic, without new stuff to find out. So yeah, I decline living in temporal fantasy, which doesn't mean letting imagination to run wild should be prohibited, but having some limits about real patterns of life. I don't actually think the Collector was trying to hurt or get rid of Luz. He just thought he could make her happier then she was now and give her a better life. He didn't expect to be wrong. (Let's be honest she probably looked miserable so he just wanted a happier Luz.)
