I am from Azerbaijan, today unfortunately we woke up to this tragic crash news. Our pilots did all they could and unfortunately the accident was inevitable. I think it was struck by a Russian missile. Because when the plane was in Russian airspace, something happened and an emergency landing was requested, the two closest airports in Russian territory did not approve and then they were directed to the Aktau airport of Kazakhstan on the other side of the Caspian Sea... And in the post-crash video footage of the plane, there were holes in the end of the plane's tail that resembled bullet holes. There is also a video taken by one of the passengers during this flight, and the video shows that one of the wings had been damaged. Rest in peace to the crew, the pilots who did not give up their flight until their last breath, and to all those who lost their lives in this tragic crash😓
I think you are correct about the missile but I don't think they ended up in Aktau because they were refused permission to land in Russia - I think that they had such control problems that they ended up close to Aktau before they got it back somewhat under control.
They report the news, not the conspiracies. If a conspiracy is proven correct they will report it, but speculation without evidence is how you lose credibility. I am from Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 The plane flew wherever the control center directed it. There are many versions, either birds hit the plane or there was a malfunction in the plane. Because as you can see from the video, if there was a bird strike, the engine would have caught fire when it was at altitude, and the oxygen tank explosion doesn't look realistic because it's in the cabin. But the pilot tried to adjust the balance by jumping up and down, and he did the trick,he's a hero, the plane just didn't listen. Then there are footage of a passenger inside the plane. There are holes in the turret at the back of the plane, maybe the plane was shot down from the ground with some kind of weapon, or birds can't even make holes, holes. Would seem to me that you would want to quote an officials of Azerbaijani or Kazak aviation authority. But that's CNN and now we see there is another likely senario that would not favor the Russians.
"Way too quick to jump on a bird strike senario(sic)" doesn't mean the Russians are lying, it means that they were told, by the aircrew, that the aircrew thought they had a bird strike. The Russians are probably just reporting what the aircrew told them.
There's no uncertainty as to the cause of the accident. It was hit by a Russian ground to air missile. The rear elevator and rudder clearly show shrapnel pox marks from the missile. The shrapnel took out all three hydraulic systems meaning the pilots had no control of the flight surfaces; elevator, ailerons rudder, etc. They were controlling the aircraft by varying thrust from the jet engines. Videos from passengers cell phones show that the oxygen masks had deployed when the shrapnel caused the cabin to loose air pressure.
It's not as obvious as you might think. The "pox marks" are not consistent with a modern continuous-expanding-rod warhead. Modern missile warheads don't just blow up any throw bits of shrapnel, they use a warhead that has a series of metal rods welded together and kind of accordion-folded around the explosive. When the explosive detonates, it propels the rods out, and the rods *stay connected together* in an expanding continuous ring; they're designed to cut entire sections of the airframe off, which makes them WAY more lethal than old-style blast-fragmentation warheads. But continuous-rod warheads make a distinctive impact pattern, because the fragments all come out in a ring, so all of the impacts will be roughly in a straight line on the target. That is NOT what is observed on this aircraft. Whatever damaged it, caused a random dispersion of independent fragments, so must have been a very old missile (or proximity-fuzed gun round) with a blast-fragmentation warhead. And there are lots of state and non-state actors around the Caspian basin with old 1970s-era missiles. *something* hit this aircraft, but the type of warhead would imply that it was an older system, and therefore *less* likely to be Russian military, as they retired those old systems pretty long ago. The only stuff the Russians are still using with blast-frag warheads are the very large missiles with 200+ pound warheads where the desired effects radius is too large for a continuous-rod warhead to be practical... but those missiles use warheads *SO* large that this aircraft would not have continued flying for any appreciable length of time after being hit.
Man, this is just horribly tragic. It is so sad. The fact that people are walking away, albeit with some assistance, is a testament to how well the pilots did. R.I.P. to all the souls that were lost. My heart aches for the loved ones left behind. 😢 Sigh ...

The plane had no hydraulics. The flight video shows no control movement at all. The aircraft had part of a left flap fairing damaged while in flight along with the leading edge of the horizontal stabilizers. The interior was also damaged. Finally, the hull breached while still at altitude causing the oxygen to be deployed. Birds don’t fly at those altitudes.

Can she tell me, if it were an explosion from the airplane, why those things that look like shrapnel holes look like something penetrated from the outside? Is she for real?
I remember when CNN used to report the news... Uncontained engine failures on an aircraft with underwing engine placement won't leave shrapnel holes on the trailing edge of the horizontal stabilizer. It will leave an almost vertical pattern corresponding to the plane of the rotating parts flung from the engine. As for Ms Chiavo's theory, the tail is too intact, meaning it broke off as the rest of the aircraft was disintegrating and was out of range of any debris from the disintegrating section in front of it. Any shrapnel from the collision with the ground would be going forward with the momentum of the aircraft. If they don't like my theories, blame Isaac Newton. I bet the CVR recording mysteriously "has a problem" or goes missing. But keep shoveling the pablum to the masses CNN... nothing to see here, move along.
Those poor birds. They worked so hard to reach a record breaking 33K ft. and then they are murdered by a plane. Their flock will celebrate them as heroes. 🐦🦅🕊
I don't think CNN could be any more tone deaf by putting your "breaking news" banner over the image we actually want to see. Great work CNN technician!!
So the oxygen masks deployed, the pilots clearly had no pitch control, the plane was able to fly up and down (obviously the engines were working, both of them, otherwise the plane would have spiraled out of control or would only have gone down), engines were intact in videos showing the crash (another sign that they were not damaged), the landing gear was down (can be done without hydraulics), flaps and speed brakes were not deployed (another sign of no hydraulics), there were holes on people's life vests BEFORE the crash, there's obvious shrapnel damage on the aft section of the plane. And there were Russians firing air-defence missiles while these events took place. And despite all these facts, one expert talks about how pilots are trained to fly on one engine after a bird strike, and another expert talks about "bullet holes" that appeared AFTER the plane crashed? How can their opinions be so inconsistent with the available data?
lmfao. right? I've smoked birds before in an RJ and they absolutely do not puncture the skin of the aircraft unless they are absolutely massive, but look how many punctures there are. Zero fucking chance it was birds.

The version with the birds is an absolute lie. Most likely, the crew of the plane said this so that the passengers would not panic. In Kazakhstan, specifically in the Aktau region, there are a lot of birds. And even more birds that migrate to warmer climates. Do you even know what the climate is like in Kazakhstan? There can be +45 degrees of heat in the summer, and -45 degrees of cold in the winter. There are no migratory birds in the winter. Any bird that did not have time to migrate would have already died out.

They don't. Most birds literally explode on the surface of the aircraft into a big red splotch, I've hit half a dozen in RJs and they never even leave a dent, let alone puncture 100 holes on surfaces that aren't even exposed to striking birds. There's absolutely ZERO chance htis was bird strikes.
That woman is absolutely oblivious as to what she's talking about. Also, it's not that amazing to know what happened when she watched the video of it. I bet that anyone who plays plane simulation games or more of an expert then her.The pilots clearly knew they would have to make an emergency landing, so they weren't fighting against the plane. They were trying to use as much fuel as they could so that if it wasn't a clean landing, the explosion would hopefully be more survivable. Also, the reason they survived in the back wasn't a miracle. It was because the pilots got the plane low enough so that if the landing went bad, at least some people would survive. Give the pilots their credit, which they deserve for gliding it, and saving people in doing that.

Exactly….CNN just can’t tell the truth….why is CNN reporting anything…dumb and dumber.
Sounds like a scene from a movie or something.
Man, this is just horribly tragic. It is so sad.
The fact that people are walking away, albeit with some assistance, is a testament to how well the pilots did.

@@kronos7110 CNN was not the network that argued in court they do not report actual news and any intelligent person would understand that.
The front portion of the plane is NOT missing, it burned up. Get your facts straight !
CNN you are irresponsible posting this when there was so much information posted at least 8 hours prior….
Killed by Russian anti air system😢
WRONG. Poor try. Azerbarjan and Kazakstan have strong military ties and other relations. I was in central Asia, in Kazakstan all speak Russian, so in Azerbaijan. In this video all spoke Russian. So lets cut the speculation off. Until the facts don't come out is pure speculation and theory that can be discussed and changed facts cant. We average Americans don't travel but pretend to know it all. Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are Muslim. Many of them live in Russia so do Russians live in their Countries peacefully. Putin build the largest mosque in Moscow for Russian and central Asian Muslims like Kazakstan to come to Moscow to celebrate Ramadan. Putin opens Ramadan every year. Of course Muslims from extremist Countries are not allowed entry. But there are some who live illegally Putin cracks them down since the Moscow terrorist attack.

Can she tell me, if it were an explosion from the airplane, why those things that look like shrapnel holes look like something penetrated from the outside? Is she for real?
Objective news from a reliable and unbiased outlet...😂😂😂😂😂
Must have been Trump's fault
Who are you angry at again?
Those poor birds. They worked so hard to reach a record breaking 33K ft. and then they are murdered by a plane. Their flock will celebrate them as heroes. 🐦🦅🕊
It’s plane and obvious, Russia Russia Russia
?
you would know.
Was it a Russian bird? 🐦
How can their opinions be so inconsistent with the available data?
birdstrike ? there's shrapnel in the fuselage...
lmfao. right? I've smoked birds before in an RJ and they absolutely do not puncture the skin of the aircraft unless they are absolutely massive, but look how many punctures there are. Zero fucking chance it was birds.
Shot down over Russia and Russia immediately claiming it was a bird strike.
What does that tell you?
Remember MH17 and KAL007?
I can't imagine how the survivors are processing this event!!
Terrorism not bird
We need an interview from the victims.
We need victim's testimony, or will they be silenced?
Birds don't fly at 33k feet We're not buying the bird story
Those survived because rear fuselage / tail section broke off / away, front section and wings caught fire on impact
Was it shot down???
most likely...there were lots of holes in the fuselage

Yes. Look at the aft part of the airplane. It's peppered as if hit by a giant shotgun. This airplane was definitely hit by a ground to air missile or the smaller type.

Rest in peace all who passed on this fateful morning. Prayers to all who lost people in this crash 💔.
We all know MH17 all over again

NOT a bird strike. Shrapnel damage wrecked the hydraulic system.
Ruzzia does not shoot all the planes, but all the planes shot down are by Ruzzia (Prigozyn included)
@@НиколайКерн-р8е Actually the US Navy does. Decades ago USN ship shot down an Iranian airliner filled with women and children. Last week another USN ship shot down their own F-18 fighter. But this plane was downed by nobody but Russian air defense. Sad.
That plane was clearly shot down. Sad.
What the hell kind of birds blow holes through a plane?
Give the pilots their credit, which they deserve for gliding it, and saving people in doing that.
that’s wasn’t no birds!
It was hit by a missile. Long before it came down . Its platered by shrapnel holes
