Cool video. I don't believe we've ever taken the weights off the front of our tractors, even when we arent pulling but a mower. We have tracks though, so we are already spreading the weight out more, but really its so soft and steep where we farm that a bit of weight on the nose is nice. Have a good one!
Thanks for watching. Sounds like different country! Where are you at? I’ll put the weights back on soon - I’ll need some weight for when it’s hooked to the module builder next cotton season. No tracks on this farm but I sure wouldn’t mind some!
@@drylanddudesfarms They help with compaction I hear, but we get them purely for turning and burning on some steep stuff. We dryland wheat farm out in Washington State. Palouse type country, but more severe hills. Lots of alkalai and white soil. White ice is what it feels like in a combine. I make videos as of a year and a half ago of it.
@@TrevorStruthers Just watched a couple of your videos and subscribed. You weren't kidding about steep! You're a brave man working so close to the edge of those cliffs!
@@drylanddudesfarms lol. Appreciate that! I think i lucked out as far as content goes, but my farming is a bit more dangerous than normal. Its pretty normal in Prescott WA in the town im from. I enjoy watching all the different types of farming that are different from here.
But here in pakistan Pest especially white fly damage the cotton crop more than other factors. Before that pink worms was damaging. but thanks to triple gene varities.
Know the feeling of no crop!! I’m from Kansas. Terrible drought in 23. Corn and beans burnt up!!! I used to have a 4555 darn good rigs! No cotton up here. Have some irrigated crops. I assume u are in Texas?……
Yes in West Texas. We came into planting with zero moisture and then it came a flood right before planting so we had good moisture to get really good stands. We grew some really pretty plants but when fruiting began, it never rained again and we had 110 degree days on repeat. First position bolls were all no good. Got good rains in September and thought we might have time to make a crop but the early freeze took care of that. Weird year. 4555 used to be our planting tractor. I got the 8420 to clean beds with GPS and dad came behind with the planter. We are spoiled now with GPS

Thanks!
That hurts to lose a crop , been there done that . How many acres do you and your dad farm ?
Yea it’s tough to see it end like this. Been a roller coaster of a year for sure. We’ll try again next year!
Thats not a question you ask a Texan sir. Thats like asking the man how much money he has in the bank !
I can feel the pain of not having bad crops, especially cotton as being a cotton farmer from Pakistan. whats the reason of bad cotton crop ?
We had an extremely hot summer and no rain and then we got an early freeze that killed the cotton we did have before it matured.
