Cos the intention in that season was different,the focus was on the leads,here the focus was on a cameo who happened to be bff with the creatives,he became the story,plain and simple,had they not brought him in then we would still be watching abhira,that is why HC and PR didn't renew their contracts and chose to leave,cos to keep that cameo relevant they destroyed the characters and the og storyline
