Hello Paul and Bea, I want to thank you for your videos, your information has helped my wife and I immensely! We’ve been here about 7 weeks, finally settled in Arrancapins and still enjoying your vids. Thanks and maybe one day our paths will cross. Randy and Margot 👍🙂
Great video on on public transportation, this is one of the many reasons why I’ll be moving and retiring to Spain hopefully within 3 years, and Valencia is at the top of my list! I’m planning on taking a trip to Spain in late Spring of 2024 for 2 weeks of which 3-5 days will be in Valencia. Keep up the good work, I’ll be following your adventures and experience living in Valencia (Spain). When I’m there in late Spring 2024, I would love to take both of you out to dinner ( on me ) on your recommendation! Take care and keep living the dream!
@@mariorubio5772 mil gracias Mario! We don’t regret a minute of living in Valencia. And I know it’s the same for most people here. Yes please reach out when you’re here. Thank you for watching!
Just took the green Hop On hop Off and an advice to anyone taking Hop On in Valencia, take the red Hopon bus instead of Green! Green is more expensive and infrequent and the bus we took, the commentary wasn’t working properly!
Hi Paul And Bea can you recommend a really good burger and chips place in Valencia please. We have had Spamishnfood since we arrived on Saturday so my husband is craving for good (if not the best) burger and chips. Thank you 😊
Great video, I’m going to Spain soon so this information will be very helpful. In England we just call it ‘transport’ and I’ve never understood why American English adds -ation.
Hi Paul & Bea! Thank you for this video! I am visiting Valencia in late November with my 9-year-old child. I'm wondering if children under 10 get to ride buses for free too, or is it just trams and trains that are free? Thank you!
Awesome video. Two questions. If I use metro, get out of the metro station and use a tram, is it a two rides or one? (Where everything happens within 90min) Can I check the state of Suma card? Thanks
@@zeljkotodor I think what we discovered is that the buses will let you ride more than once on the card within 60 or 90 minutes. Metro or Tram doesn’t seem to do that anymore. You can check the status either when you validate or at the stations.
Ola! I've been loving your informative videos about the Valencia area. We are planning a trip to Valencia this coming late October to visit our son who will be there this coming school year during his freshman college year. Wondering if you can tell me a few of your favorite side area trips? We were thinking of heading to Alicante and that area for a few days. We will have 10 days total and will stay in Valencia for at least 5 days before we head to other areas. Thanks so much!
Hola! We liked the castle ruins in Xativa, and the beach in Gandia is pretty. I heard coastal towns like Calpe and Altea are beautiful. We plan to drive up to peñiscola someday.
I only have one question. When you get on a bus/tram/tube and you validate your ticket the first time, do you have to validate it again if you change buses/trams/tube (assuming your bus doesn't take you where you need to go, and you have to make a transfer) and your trip is still within the 90 minutes from first validation and it will still count as 1 trip, or do you not have to validate it at all as long as your trip hasn't exceeded the 90 minutes from first validation? Thank you so much for your videos, I find them sooo helpful and you two are very adorable so it's always a fun watch :-)
Hi thanks for watching! I don’t quite understand your question. If you board a bus 2x within 60 minutes (sorry it’s not 90 minutes anymore) the second ride is free. ☺️ you do have to tap the card each time you board.
@@EverythingIsBoffo Oh yes, tap is what I meant, not validate. Does it also work with transfers like bus>metro and vice versa, will the second ride also be free?
Hello very nice video! thanks! Can I share my card also for my wife for metro? So the instructions will be like activate it, go through barrier. Then pass to wife and then she activates it go through barrier. So now we have 2 trips count on this single card. And then we arrive to destination. The next step is to deactivate card two times to get out from destination station? Is it right?
I think it depends on how much transportation you will be using on those 5 days. The city is very walkable and most touristy spots are close together. A regular transit card will be more cost effective if you don’t need to use the bus/metro often and can be shared by more than 1 person because it’s per trip. And then you can reload as needed.
Thank you that was my next question if the card can be used for multiple people. Also, what is a better stay in Valencia a hotel or Airbnb is it possible to do a video on that in the future. Thank you
wow that's a extremely wise/ clever/ savings to make, l admire both of you, you are like mixture of 'cafe' con leche' how about the senyor ciitizen the are free ride in Spain/VAllencia? Sincerely, Manolo
Hola Manolo! There’s Bono Oro : For over 65's, pensioners and people with disabilities or with functional diversity, who meet the requirements set out in the Current Regulations, and are registered in Valencia and legal residents in Spain. It’s 20€ a year.
In Valencia it can vary greatly, but my rule of thumb is up to 10€/sq m. Most areas are safe, but it gets more expensive the closer to the city center.
@@EverythingIsBoffo Are you really that stupid?? Where did I say there were no cars in Spain?! I said there’s no *need* for a car in Spanish cities, just like in most European cities, so it’s stupid and naïve to underscore this, as it’s a well-known fact about Europe. I stand by what I wrote.

Thanks for the video. I just wondering what card would be the best choice for 3 day’s vacation. Tourist card or something else?
Depends what transportation you will be using. The city is very walkable so maybe the 10 trips Suma10 will do.
@@EverythingIsBoffo Is there a card for all modes of transport for 3 days for example?
@@talibankaa the Suma10 is for subway/tramvia and buses
Enjoyed the video. Question, can two people share the Suma 10 card? That is, can I use it to get on a tram, then pass it to my wife for her to use?
Yes! They count the trips, so the screen will read 2 viajeros when you scan the 2nd person.
@@EverythingIsBoffo Many thanks!
Thanks for the Video guys! As a tourist how can I collect the transport card? Also is the same card accessible for all the MRTs?

@@raymondfurgason8959 the tourist card has 24 and 48 day passes

Is the bus, metro, tram wheelchair accessible?
Yes! Most if not all metro stations have elevators, buses have ramps, trams have wheelchair access as well.

can you still hop on a bus that says complete? or does that mean that no one else can join unless someone leaves
No, typically the driver won't open the front door, they won't even stop, and even if some get off the bus if it's very very full.
Can I buy for a day public transport?
They sell per ten trips so not per day, which to us is more economical because you can use it for longer and more than 1 person can use it.
