I'm an attorney. I forget what it's called in the USA, but at sentencing, there's a petition you can submit called a plea in mitigation. The attorney can ask the court to be lenient based on efforts their client is making to be better. More than likely, Karen's attorney advised her to not check into rehab until now, as it could help her in the eyes of the court to get a reduced or lesser sentence.

She was also found not guilty of reckless driving, which restricts her problem as seeming to stem from a disease (alcoholism) which if she shows she is getting treatment for that, the judge may also take that into account in sentencing

4:00 I’ve been thinking this during the last few episodes of RHOSLC. Whatever Meredith was crying about with Scott should’ve been her storyline this season. So far she has offered nothing but dramatics to the show and I’m wondering why no one is talking about it, it reminds me of Robin from Potomac.
Wendy has had the best housewife glow up I have seen and she keeps getting better. She has literally upgraded Potomac to the best of her abilities. The cheapness of the other women has made it hard to fully upgrade the show.
The funny part is how everyone came after Wendy about her comment at the table that day, not knowing that there had been a long drawn out interaction where Mia had I guess inappropriately referred to Gisele‘s children that way. So editing will definitely make you look absolutely ridiculous, so much so that the fan base comes out against you. Another example that comes to mind: during the reunion a few years ago when Wendy had brought up the poster board receipts from the telephone calls and they tried to make her look like a fool because she had brought them. However, let’s not forget that her husband is an attorney at law and the proof that she presented was legal and relevant, but because the moderator of didn’t want it to go her way they then made her look silly for bringing it.

I want to say Mia spoke twice about Gizelles girls two different times. I think Mia was apologizing for the first time she said something. I think later on Mia tells Gizelle her daughters were wh-res. I might be wrong but maybe that’s why Gizelle accepted this apology but not after she called them wh-res at a different time

I live in the DC area. All these dynamic beautiful black women in this area and Bravo picked the cast they did, shame on them. Real talk aint nobody checking for the city of Potomac in this area. DC, MD, and Northern Virgina have so many woman of color in this area doing great things or who at least are interseting. This cast is boring, pretentious, and fake. Bring back Candace or Monquie or both!!!

No one of significance in THIS town is about to sign up for real housewives. This was the challenge for RHODC. Potomac is just another failed attempt at the very same pool.
DC is just far too preppy for a woman of any caliber to make it on this show. Even LAMDC struggled with that. We are a little hood but the standard for foolishness is too high for the girls that have real money to want to come and risk being outcasted by their real life in the area. It’s gonna take some out of towners or girlies from Baltimore to beef up the show.
Vivian has always been on the show. She is not a DEI hire LOL . She is reallllllllllllllyyyyyyyy that girl in the DMV. similar to Charisse but the Nigerian version. If you go back in the previous season she is there at all the ladies parties. She is a real socialite in the West African High Society community in MD/DC. During Christmas she hosts big big galas and all the whose who attend. She will never let them in more than a lil drive by tho. Producers were trying to get her on since they fired Charisse the first time. She is old school .
Wendy comes of as an insecure person. And considering she has so much education it's surprising that she isn't very strategic when dealing with the other women.
Y’all are confusing reality TV with real life! Karen’s case is an active real life case where anything said or done can affect the outcome of her sentencing. I’m glad she chose to use her “rich white woman privilege card” to skip the reunion. We all know how the ladies were going to hold her feet to the fire and demand answers which could definitely impact the outcome of her sentencing. Instead, she enters rehab which shows some accountability. Karen is fighting to stay out of jail, and thankfully she’s not trying to play into these reality show expectations for our entertainment purposes.

Wendy is the best Housewife on Potomac but she needs a storyline next season.
The whole need a storyline business is the reason we are suffering through Mia, Jacqueline, Ink and Jordan lies. No ones life is consistently dramatic but the "storyline" obsession makes the people lie and fake for the cameras.

Karen went to rehab prior to sentencing to show the judge she is serious about repairing her sobriety. Which may help possibly reduce any time she may get. Also I'm sure her attorneys told her,she better not go to the reunion which may put her in a negative light via the judge.

I'm an attorney. I forget what it's called in the USA, but at sentencing, there's a petition you can submit called a plea in mitigation. The attorney can ask the court to be lenient based on efforts their client is making to be better. More than likely, Karen's attorney advised her to not check into rehab until now, as it could help her in the eyes of the court to get a reduced or lesser sentence.
But wouldn’t that be more obvious if she went in right before sentencing why not last year when it happened ? 🤔
@lollypop2310 no, it wouldn't have, because trial was not yet a factor. Plus there was still the chance that the case could've been dismissed. She was also found not guilty of reckless driving, which restricts her problem as seeming to stem from a disease (alcoholism) which if she shows she is getting treatment for that, the judge may also take that into account in sentencing

I respect your opinion, but there is a difference. Marriage is a contract and a merger of assets. Boyfriend & girlfriend is an eviction notice. Marriage has to do with entitled benefits. Baby Mama's and Daddies are considered liabilities in the grand scheme of things. There are some things one can do to protect the children, but marriage solidifies everything according to the law. Huge difference.

4:00 I’ve been thinking this during the last few episodes of RHOSLC. Whatever Meredith was crying about with Scott should’ve been her storyline this season. So far she has offered nothing but dramatics to the show and I’m wondering why no one is talking about it, it reminds me of Robin from Potomac.

Wendy has had the best housewife glow up I have seen and she keeps getting better. She has literally upgraded Potomac to the best of her abilities. The cheapness of the other women has made it hard to fully upgrade the show.
The funny part is how everyone came after Wendy about her comment at the table that day, not knowing that there had been a long drawn out interaction where Mia had I guess inappropriately referred to Gisele‘s children that way. So editing will definitely make you look absolutely ridiculous, so much so that the fan base comes out against you.
Another example that comes to mind: during the reunion a few years ago when Wendy had brought up the poster board receipts from the telephone calls and they tried to make her look like a fool because she had brought them.
However, let’s not forget that her husband is an attorney at law and the proof that she presented was legal and relevant, but because the moderator of didn’t want it to go her way they then made her look silly for bringing it.
