I was a wax sculpting jeweler for 18 years and have always loved the hand fabricators art. Many of my friends back then were skilled hand fabricators and we would always share techniques and the advantages of both methods. I did some fabrication and they tried their hand at sculpting. Your work brings back such enjoyable memories. I still have all of my equipment and I’m inspired to set it up again. 👍
It’s great to hear that my work has inspired you to set up your equipment again! Wax sculpting is a fascinating art form that requires a lot of skill and patience. I’m glad that you have fond memories of your time as a wax sculpting jeweler and that you were able to share techniques with your friends. ))
i started learning silversmithing when i was 17/18 i have to admit iv never gotten a hang of sculpting wax but my mentor even tho she rarely uses wax has done some amazing pieces with it.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I really appreciate your support and encouragement. It means a lot to me to know that my hard work is being recognized. Keep watching and I'll keep working hard to bring you more great content!
I look at your work with pleasure. And to be honest, I like the process of creating the conceived more than the products themselves, although they are also beautiful.
Thank you for your positive comment, it greatly inspires me and my team to do new projects. It is interesting to know your opinion about the projects that I have done using a 3d printer. Are they not as exciting as hand-made projects?
Thank you so much for your work! I never thought I could glue the paper to the silver, even though it's quite obvious now! What solder/flux do you use? That looks better than my stuff I use!
We cook the silver solder ourselves. It's not pasta. It's just that we have solders of different refractoriness. Pasta is much easier to work with. If you have the opportunity to use pasta, then it is better to take advantage of this. The skill will come with experience. The main thing is to catch the moment so as not to overheat the ring.
I watch a lot of jewellery videos on TH-cam but I must say I love the pace of your editing! And also your work flow looks super quick and fluid, subscribed for sure ❤
Fascinating method. I wouldn't have guessed you pieced this ring together from all of those separate parts. Is there any benefit to doing a ring that way? instead of starting with a larger amount of metal and taking away material until you end up with the same result?
Thanks for the comment! Theoretically, it can be made from one piece, but it will be more difficult. Especially if you need to create different terrain levels. In fact, any piece of jewelry can be created in several ways.
This was the most random video to pop up on my feed but damn it was so worth it!! Awesome ring and let me tell you, I get bored real quick with videos but I watched this til the end!
I am very glad that you liked it. I didn't plan to sell, but if you really liked it, I can sell the ring that was made on video. Write to us on instagram : jewelator
Very nice piece of jewelry! Good work. Can I ask what liquid you use when the jewelry is dark after soldering and needs to get rid of dirt? I look forward to your next videos as a goldsmith. Good luck :))
It's always a pleasure to see a master at work. 🔥 One thing i was wondering, how did you avoid the firescale? Did you flux the whole piece or do you use the boric acid solution? 🤔 Also what's that black thing called on which you curved the dragon piece. I use wood for that purpose but I have also seen another channel use that. Great video tho. PS. LOVED THE CAT 😺! 😂
Thank you for the comment. Yes, you are right, you can use a flux and then dip the ring in citric acid to bleach the silver. The thing we bend the dragon on is a punzel. But in general, you can use a tree as an option. The main thing is that the result is the same))) The cat is the main part of the work, I think the ring would not have worked without it)))
It's a pretty ring. However, it is not a signet ring. A signet refers to a seal. A signet ring is a ring with the seal incorporated into it. And by seal we are talking about a carved design that could be stamped into hot wax etc. and was used historically to authorize or seal documents.
Very nice work, i decided I was going to make jewellery after a work accident left me unable to work. I copied Dynamis link in link chain and some other stuff. I've put some shorts up on you tube and as an absolute beginner I'd love some feedback from an actual jeweller. The gold chain when finished will be the nicest i think. I love smelting the metal and making wire and sheet. Jewellery is very addictive, i hope to be at your level one day .👍🏴
@@jewelator I've been doing it for about 5 months but haven't done anything for a wee while as I've been renovating in the house. I'll be back at it soon and I have some new ideas for silver and gold. Merry Christmas.
