Retired to Scotland in 2016, drove by the entrance at least 100 times, noticed all the cars and people but never put 2&2 together. Been back twice with my daughter but I am to brave enough to go down. Great video
Thank! There was a rope to hold on to on the way down. Or at least there was when I was there. It's a pretty atmospheric place. I keep meaning to go back at a different time of day to see what it's like. Glad you enjoyed the video anyway.
@@michaelbarr24 Hi thanks replying so quickly. As mentioned my daughter was brave enough to go down the first time, it was actually over Christmas and only a few people around, there was in fact a rope there at that time, I was nervous about slipping so passed. The second time, her and her boyfriend went down without a rope, young and brave lol. It was difficult for her to explain the beauty of the place and the phone/camera doesn't catch it either. Again, thanks for the fantastic video, cheers from Scotland (and Canada)
Thanks! Should hopefully be getting another video up in the next few days. It's not too bad waiting for light in the summer, but in winter it's freezing!!! haha
+Jim Hamilton glad you enjoyed it Jim. It's a fantastic place. Please feel free to share it and check out the other videos from about Scotland and Northern Ireland I've uploaded.
Hi Michael, Great location - loved the Loch Tay shot especially. When you get a photo that works. Would be interesting to learn how you stitch together a series of three of four photos to 'create' the trails and swirls you mentioned. Mark
Hello Mark. Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for your kind words. With regards to the Stitching photos, I've now included a wee link at the end of my video. I've also included it in my reply here. th-cam.com/video/amC606SLxCg/w-d-xo.html This is where I learn how to do it. It's really handy but for my image, I spent over 4 hours (not me, my computer) combining and merging and in the end, the clouds just looked soft. I preferred the more dramatic clouds in my final image.
Hi Michael, Great! I subscribe to that channel, but that demo must have skipped by me. I can now postpone shelling out on a ND filter! Will need my maths head o out in the field though! Many thanks
Michael - discovered your vlog today; enjoyed it and subscribed. You captured some very nice images and the technique you describe of using several exposures to create a long exposure is interesting - I assume it's an alternative to using a ND filter. Anyway, please check out my channel and if you enjoy it perhaps you would consider subscribing as well. Dave
Hey David. Thank you for your comments. Yes, for me, it is an alternative. I use it occasionally. I've popped a link below to show where I learnt about this technique. Thanks, Michael th-cam.com/video/amC606SLxCg/w-d-xo.html
Hi Michael. I'm going to Scotland in three weeks. Your youtube video and your photo is pretty helping because I'm planing to go the Devil's Pulpit
Fabulous video, really enjoyed every moment. Subscribed.🙂🙂🙂
Hey thanks very much. It feels like it was ages ago I was there. Good to know people are still watching the older videos.
