LINKING TABLES in Excel and Indesign can be done through Edit > Preferences > File Handling > option "Create Links When Placing Text and Spreadsheet Files" must be ticked. Just clicking on "Formatted Table" doesn`t give you the desired results (or any other option).
I got this error message when using files exported from Numbers or Google Docs. Files created with Excel, or the web based Office 365 version, works though. YMMV.
Hi, thanks for this video. When I change the font color, there is a fuzzy texture around the font. How do I change this? When I started, I Reset Essentials for 'Workspace'.
when i select "formatted table", the text is missing or wrong in a lot of places. either way, the colors are incorrect! also, is the only way to get this to print without the lines/borders to use "unformatted tab text"?!? I nee to import my table, with formatting, and not have the stupid grid. is this impossible???
Great video!! Thanks!! Is there anyway of adding a "COLUMN FILTER," which will still be exported when you create a PDF from here please? If so that would be truly awesome, and a life saver!!!! ;) ;)
Don't know if you monitor this now but what would be really helpful is to show how one can import a spread sheet with 26 columns but you only want to import 10 into your data merge. Right now I can't figure out how to set it up with the formatting of A1:A@260. I want to import C, D, H, I, etc. but nothing seems to work.

"Cannot Place this file. No filter Found for requested operation."

Does this get messed up if there's imagery within the spreadsheet? Regardless, this is cool and will save me time today! Thanks!

Brilliant!
Great tutorial, but for some reason all of my numbers show up as red dots who imported. I'm stumped.
Interesting thank you. Can you tell us how this can be saved as an INTERACTIVE pdf file now.

Also how would the other pages that contain mathematical information be added to the inDesign 1st page?
"Linking" doesn't work as described in this video.
