I think because he trusts in Sydney as a co-captain but he should remember that he is the captain and head chef so he should handle such matters honestly and be more involved in monitoring Sydney’s ideas for the restaurant.

This episode of The Bear should be titled "Why Are You F'ing With Me?!". "Review" is one of the most stressful episodes of TV in recent years. Even after seeing the episode multiple times I still get anxiety watching it. Chef's kiss to the director, producers, and all the actors involved for accomplishing an 18-minute one take.
This is the most stressful show I have watch. Sydney, Carmy, Marcus and Richie all shares blame for what happened in the kitchen. Sydney was wrong for bringing up Richie's daughter. wow. ok I have so many thoughts. first of all, yes Sydney is the 2nd in command but Carmy is head chef and should be a better leader. he is always putting *everything* on her plate and then just expecting her to deal with it without ever checking up on her. that is poor leadership. yes, she left the to-go orders on but it was Carmy’s responsibility to check behind her to make sure it was done correctly. and yes, they were getting a lot more orders due to the review but just because someone makes a mistake, that doesn’t give their boss the right to scream in their face in front of all of their coworkers. in addition, that toxic behavior trickles down, as we saw when Sydney began taking it out on Tina. true leadership begins with leading by example. on another note, I don’t think Sydney was in the right for saying the things she said to Richie, but Richie was also wrong for saying she blew someone down at the paper to get a good review. both parties were in the wrong here, but for some reason, everyone just brushed off Richie’s comment and harps on Sydney, who’s been putting up with Richie’s sh*t for days now. the last thing I’ll say about this episode is that Chris made a good point: when you treat your employees like that, you run the risk of them walking out. period. The thing about this show is everyone is fucked. Carmy also could have left, saying something like "this wasn't what I signed up for, you guys are manipulating me, fuck you", but he didn't (except for the last one lol), because he worked in kitchens before, he learned from his formers chefs and even though he isn't a good leader, he knows that just leaving isn't a viable option. Sydney isn't the victim here, she actively created this situation (with others of course) and instead of helping solving it, she just bailed. That's weak, that shows that you can't count on her in stressful situations.
@ nah, that’s toxic. she and Carmy literally had a conversation a couple episodes back about how they wanted this place to be different from other places they’d been at and he agreed. then he turned around and completely bailed on that by being the exact kind of boss that f*cked him up in the first place. Sydney isn’t the leader, Carmy is. it’s his job to stick it out and lead by example. in my mind, he showed he couldn’t be trusted to treat his employees with respect when shit hits the fan. that’s the mark of a bad leader. Richie has been piling on Sydney since this season started, and last episode was almost about to get physical until Tina intervened. A person can only take so much before it all spills out and today was that day, and Sydney unleashed everything she had tried to bury. Was it right? No. Is it a believable response? Absolutely.
It's just weird to me how everyone wants to push the blame on sydney or jump on some weird syd hate train when if people actually paid attention to the show they would see that they all shared the blame, yes she should not have left like that but other people such as richie and carmy should also have behaved themselves in that episode like they all share the blame. Also from a womens point of view saying stuff like are you blowing someone down at the telegraph is definitely not funny or a good joke like that is disgusting and the fact that some people can't see that is telling.
In Syd's defense... Carmy screams at here to get the f off his expo....so her checking out kinda gave him what he asked for. If he valued her attempt to help, which is all she's really been trying to do, maybe he would have controlled what he said to her better (this is how she is thinking).
This is Syd's fault. She continues to push for things before they're ready. Sure Carmy could have stopped To Go before it was ready, but that was only in place because Syd kept pushing it. The same way she gave the risotto when she shouldn't have. Carmy's reaction is justified. This is literally the reason Syd has failed at her previous ventures.
Carmy deserved to get angry about how Sydny and Markus were acting. Richie was actually doing everything he was told to do Carmy told him to prep with Sydny she was the one freaking out then when he was "on her station" she couldnt let go of her grudge when its go time. Richie was obviously used to working in high stress kitchen times like this and never wasn't working. Syd also was standing in Carmys expo like a deer in the headlights, and he had to yell to get her to listen after telling her multiple times to get off the expo for her to listen. Carmy doesn't have the time to talk about the risotto right before service, but Syd is all about now now now. Syd is the young upstart that is flying too high too fast, not realizing her impact on things around her. (Remember she had her own business that failed as a startup) She and Markus literally left the staff high and dry. In a kitchen, you work through the shift, get over the hump then quit otherwise your screwing everyone, not just your manager.
I 100% agree, as someone who has suffered because of someone doing this to me. It doesn't matter how I feel about the characters, it was a messed up thing to do right there.
and carmy is the owner and boss of everyone, it's his responsibility to keep a cool head. we obviously know why he reacted this way because we've seen future episodes, but to a person who just started at this job the amount of disrespect he showed everyone is appalling as a boss lmao it didn't help the situation at all and it's not the move of a manager. if you can excuse carmy's behavior that made this already high stress environment so much worse, did absolutely nothing to help the situation, still getting mad at sydney for being fed up with it is just you hating syd lmao
@@bananaslinexactly. And he put the whole pre order thing on Sydney. If they had actually worked together to make sure the launch went right, this may not have happened.
My biggest issue with this episode is that Sydnie never takes any responsibility for her actions. She even says "this isn't on me" yet it was literally her fault. She never once takes any responsibility or apologizes. She pushed the pre-order system which Carmie didn't want, she gave a customer the risotto after Carmie told her it wasn't ready, and then when it all blew up blew up on them because of her mistakes, she refuses any responsibility. She didn't even take responsibility for the risotto, she just gave excuses. Carmie may be an asshole, especially when things get intense, but he always apologizes and takes accountability for his actions when he's called out on it.
@@luciomatamoros6615 I couldn't remember if Marcus apologized or not in the next episode, but I know that Sydney never apologizes. Carmie is pretty much the only one on this entire show that ever apologizes for his actions.
It's interesting that you say Sydney never takes responsibility for her actions because I'd argue that Carmy never takes responsibility for his lack of action. Carmy has a habit of giving Syd all these responsibilities and then just leaving her on her own to do it all. He doesn't check her work, he doesn't offer help, he's not a good collaborator. If he didn't want the To Go system, he could've said no, he is the owner/manager, but he has not been managing the restaurant well. Allowing an employee to implement a whole new system into your restaurant with zero oversight or help, knowing that they've never done it before is just bad management, plain and simple. And yes, he apologizes, but he continues the same patterns (leaves Sydney alone to do everything; yelling and cursing at people). An apology isn't just saying you're sorry, its also changing your behavior. If you apologize but still do the same thing over and over again, what good is the apology after that? Sydney didn't apologize but she changed her behavior; in fact, most of them did, except Carmy... I like Carmy but he has a lot of stuff to work out. Everyone around him is growing but he's still stuck.
@@OMGitsShrimp I agree with a lot of what you said, but disagree with other parts. Carmie is a horrible boss, not going to argue with that one, but I don't agree that Sydney or Markus change. Tina and one other person are the only ones that seem to make significant changes for the better. It's kinda hard to explain without getting into season 2 and 3 spoilers though.
If you guys enjoyed this episode and haven't seen Boiling Point (the movie), absolutely check that out. It's a hectic, stress-inducing British restaurant film shot entirely in one take, and it's great.
Alright, episode 7. Time for racist, sexist takes on Sydney and Marcus and worship of abusive bosses who put hands on their employees in the comments! And from the reactors, I guess.
if you want to watch something without commentary, watch the show straight up. They tend to cut portions where they’re not speaking, and trust me, the actors are yelling the entire episode they can hear what’s being said while talking.
I was really looking forward to this, imagine my massive disappointment when I saw Suraj on the couch. Suraj, what are you doing man? You have already seen this, we have already established who is on the couch, why the unnecessary distraction ..on *the* best episode? Edit: I couldn't even finish watching it tbh, it's annoying when the guy who has seen the whole thing chimes in, kinda ruins it? Let them process things themselves.
Come on man, isn’t the point to go into a show as blind as possible? Then Suraj has to hint at season 3. But I guess since he’s the boss he has to abuse his power someway or another 😂
i dont get why suraj has to consistently come in reactions to spoil the show and ruin the experience for the other normies and viewers..like bro chill out...we get it you have seen it before but let the others experience it like you did..without having someone saying the lines before it happpen....chill out please
It’s funny you say that cuz suraj is the only reason I even watched this😅. I’m sorry but I can only watch the normies if suraj isn’t present. No offense to the other members but suraj stays carrying 😂 Rana is good shit as well. But yeah as far as I’m concerned bring suraj for every reaction.
I don't like it when people join for one episode and then leave, because it sets expectations for the rest of the crew that day, but if he's joining from here on out that's a whole different thing that is completely fine imo.
Please for the love of fuck let this be a one and done. It is so rare that i get to check out your reactions without Suraj. I was so enjoying these reactions before now.
Only issue with season 3 is it felt like a bridge season it's good but it's just the middle intersection between amazing season 2 and set up for what will be season 4
She didn't stab him on accident. He didn't say corner, I agree but it was deliberate. Sydney made a mistake that caused all this, and then she left. No accountability 🤦🏽♂️
She was holding a knife out and up instead of down. It was on her to be watchful of the dangerous implement she was holding. Richie should have said corner but Syd should have also said behind/knife. Something to that effect since SHE can see Richie but he can't see her.
I feel good for finaly seeing people not siding on Sydney... damn... I dont know if its the brazilian in me, but if someone quits like this, dude, they will NEVER EVER NOT EVEN ON A DREAM come back EVER
THANK YOU! I love this show and I watched a lot of reactions, most of them defend Sydney and put all the blame on Carmy, when I also thought that Syd was the person who acted worse than everybody else. Sure Richie is an asshole, 100%, but when shit hit the fan he was relativly calm and tried to help, because he has experience in making shit work somehow.... he still trash talked everyone though haha Carmy's mistake was getting angry, being annoyed, stressful or a little aggressive in a situation like this is totally understandable, he crossed a border though. And putting Tina's son on Sydney's work pile is also very fucked. But Sydney made a fatal mistake, didn't listen to Carmy's orders (which is really important in moments like this, a clear hierarchy can solve in those situations), she started to insult Richie, got aggressive towards other people who weren't involved in their fight, stopped working doing that and she fucking left. For me that's the absolute worst, making mistakes is annoying but fine, leaving when everything goes to shit is just really really bad.
Sydney has high school brown nosing energy. She's insubordinate, rude, unapologetic. I get she's had a hard go at things, she certainly makes things harder for herself. This episode was entirely her issue and she just walked away from the burning building. And spoilers, never once apologizes for it. How people can be so in her corner without holding her accountable for at least some stuff is WILD to me. Marcus is the better Sydney. Especially with how he handles things after.
@iceman10129 I mean Carmy fucked up as well, not only this episode but before, he's a bad boss, but walking out is just an absolute no-go for me. It's totally fine if she wants to quit and never see Carmy again, I could understand that, but after you handled the consequences of your action. That's maybe the only thing I don't like about the show, how they handle the aftermath of this episode.

That shitty sandwich store needs Sydney more than she needs them. She's saved their ass literally every episode this season
Of course Carny was mad about the review... it was NOT ready...it was missing.......
2:53 Timothy Chalamet is playing Bob Dylan.
JAW is playing Bruce Springsteen
Absolutely 0 fault on Richie for getting stabbed. In the kitchen, you NEVER have your knife up and pointed. Zero tolerance for knife safety negligence
And you haven’t even deal with fish and forks yet. Hello guys 👋🏻.
In Syd's defense... Carmy screams at here to get the f off his expo....so her checking out kinda gave him what he asked for. If he valued her attempt to help, which is all she's really been trying to do, maybe he would have controlled what he said to her better (this is how she is thinking).
@musayt he asked her multiple times to get off and she wouldn't listen. Only when he yelled did she get off
Me when I like both comments cuz I agree with both of you lol
(Remember she had her own business that failed as a startup)
She and Markus literally left the staff high and dry. In a kitchen, you work through the shift, get over the hump then quit otherwise your screwing everyone, not just your manager.
It just sounds like you hate syd lol
I 100% agree, as someone who has suffered because of someone doing this to me. It doesn't matter how I feel about the characters, it was a messed up thing to do right there.
@@endublessI agree and I love syd lol
and carmy is the owner and boss of everyone, it's his responsibility to keep a cool head. we obviously know why he reacted this way because we've seen future episodes, but to a person who just started at this job the amount of disrespect he showed everyone is appalling as a boss lmao it didn't help the situation at all and it's not the move of a manager. if you can excuse carmy's behavior that made this already high stress environment so much worse, did absolutely nothing to help the situation, still getting mad at sydney for being fed up with it is just you hating syd lmao
@@bananaslinexactly. And he put the whole pre order thing on Sydney. If they had actually worked together to make sure the launch went right, this may not have happened.
Yep. This is the one
You guys watching Hulu with commercial breaks?
As soon as it got crazy Richie just started working while Sydney started freaking out.
Yea and? What's your point? lol You can say the same about Carmy. Dude was spazzing the whole time, didn't see him get anything done tbh.
Wait Carmy didn't freak out? 🤣
I agree. I agree it was good for carmy to apologize to them but neither Sydney nor Marcus apologize
773 is a Chicago area code
The most stressful episode ever, I think Suraj's hair started to fall off after this
Lmao 😂
Alright, episode 7. Time for racist, sexist takes on Sydney and Marcus and worship of abusive bosses who put hands on their employees in the comments!
And from the reactors, I guess.
Yup. This episode brings out the misogynoir creeps like moths to a candle flame
preach! it's like freaking clockwork lol
My God yall actually talked over the whole fucking episode man😭😭
Reactors reacted while filming a reaction video? Say it isn't so.
if you want to watch something without commentary, watch the show straight up. They tend to cut portions where they’re not speaking, and trust me, the actors are yelling the entire episode they can hear what’s being said while talking.
Dam Sydney 🤦♀️
You think This Episode was Stressful?
Hahahaha.
*Just Wait until You see Episode 6 of Season 2.*
Amazing work by the cast and crew. JAW said they were almost hoarse after rehearsals.
Season 3 is amazing
Chicago Pizza is great. Please don't tell me you're eating deep-dish pizza. Chicagoans don't eat that we eat Italian Fiesta pizza
One take episode!!! Sharpie!!! 😭😭😭
But I guess since he’s the boss he has to abuse his power someway or another 😂
Suraj is my least favorite on the channel, and having him pop up in one of the best episodes of the show just bummed me out.
@WillTaft he's also gay
@@revelstatus2346 and?
@@revelstatus2346 so what? Grow up kid
@@taylor099c8 he's obnoxiously gay
I love my wife’s (Rana) hair
20 minutes run time the episode
i dont get why suraj has to consistently come in reactions to spoil the show and ruin the experience for the other normies and viewers..like bro chill out...we get it you have seen it before but let the others experience it like you did..without having someone saying the lines before it happpen....chill out please
Suraj’s burner account ^
@heyimsanty I guess I'm one of his burner accounts, too, huh? He adds so much enthusiasm:) It's great!
@@AstroBoy98 Hi Suraj! I would love your hair care routine pls!
Nothing wrong with season 3.
The faks were a bit much imo but other than that, season 3 was great.
Only issue with season 3 is it felt like a bridge season it's good but it's just the middle intersection between amazing season 2 and set up for what will be season 4
nah, it's a mid season overall
She didn't stab him on accident. He didn't say corner, I agree but it was deliberate.
Sydney made a mistake that caused all this, and then she left. No accountability 🤦🏽♂️
although he didn't say corner its a pretty known rule in kitchens that knifes are never held out that way, they're pointed to the ground.
She was holding a knife out and up instead of down. It was on her to be watchful of the dangerous implement she was holding. Richie should have said corner but Syd should have also said behind/knife. Something to that effect since SHE can see Richie but he can't see her.
Well then she should have aimed higher and harder.
I feel good for finaly seeing people not siding on Sydney... damn... I dont know if its the brazilian in me, but if someone quits like this, dude, they will NEVER EVER NOT EVEN ON A DREAM come back EVER
first: 🇧🇷
second: Markus messed up bad too
You need to read more it is quite the opposite
NY or nowhere.
Sydney and Marcus lost me this episode not about using the online order stuff but the quitting part was like nah
THANK YOU! I love this show and I watched a lot of reactions, most of them defend Sydney and put all the blame on Carmy, when I also thought that Syd was the person who acted worse than everybody else. Sure Richie is an asshole, 100%, but when shit hit the fan he was relativly calm and tried to help, because he has experience in making shit work somehow.... he still trash talked everyone though haha
Carmy's mistake was getting angry, being annoyed, stressful or a little aggressive in a situation like this is totally understandable, he crossed a border though.
I hope we have Suraj back for more reactions! ❤
Please no.
Fuck no
Didn't they already react to this? Am I on drugs? I swear they already reacted to this.
i Love it when Suraj is on the couch for reactions , please bring him more
