At 0:58, anyone else spot the Bb contrabass clarinet neck next to the contra alto clarinet neck. Buffet makes a contra alto but nothing has been said about a possible contrabass... Also what looks to be parts of a contrabassoon bell in the same scene.
0:05 to 0:12 -- Ibert, Concertino da camera, 1st movement (Also at 0:25 to 0:33) 1:15 to 1:24 -- I believe that's Tomasi, Concerto 3:37 to 3:50 -- Desenclos, Prelude cadence et finale I don't recognize the piece at the end, but it sounds like a transcription of an older work.
That's the french school for saxplaying. they sound quite "light", smaller mouthpiece with lighter reeds... Combine that with a fast vibration and we often laugh with that as a "goat" sound. I also prefer the belgian way, more solid, warmer sound, with a "slower" vibration cf Norbert Nozy
This saxophone is asthenic ally beautiful and I would love to try it. I haven't tried a sax in ñearly 35 years,😢🥰

In the beginning, the overall sound wasn't "great," but throughout, I didn't find it bad, and certainly not terrible.

3.40 - 3.50 that's "prelude, cadence et final" written by Alfred Descenclos, one the most beautiful classical sax pieces ever
i.ll stick with my super dynaction
What are you talking about? He sounds good to me.
Interesting Buffet would choose a Japanese name for a line of horns being a French company.
One of their major markets is in Japan.

I would like to hear it played by a jazz player. I am not a fan of classical sax.
It's a pity the saxophonist sounds so horrible.

@@barendvansteenkiste That's the world we live in, a stuffy soulless sound became "school". I suppose through quackery and politics.
He is super bright, but he's a good player. It's just the way he's been trained.
