    That first pasture was some beautiful ground. I subscribed on that alone.

    sheep and goats. The backbone of good pasture for cattle and mulch it.

    I haven't seen grazing done right that the cows weren't about a body condition six. I'm not sure it can be done. A hungry cow would want to eat more than optimal for the grass. Maybe during the winter, but that wouldn't pay for rebreeding cows, developing heifers nor for steers. What's left, bulls?

    How about finding some one with sheep or goats and running them through the paddocks after the cows.

      While that might be an option, we have our goats in a different set up and have no interest in sheep. Cant keep up with the predators!

      @@heavenlyfarms We have black bear, coyote, wolves and an occasional cougar. We have a Great Pyrenees he keeps all the predators at bay. Although he's not too good with hawks pouncing on our chickens.

    Can I ask you? Are you a Christian who keeps Shabbat or Jewish?

      Not sure what religion has to do with pasturing cows ?

      @@jimmyjohnson7041 I am sure the man knows the reason for my question... It has nothing to with pasturing cows, for sure.
      do you really want to know?

      @shemmac4700 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jimmyjohnson7041 the question was asked because in the video he says that they keep the Shabbat, hence why they don’t move their cattle on that day but give them a double portion on Friday.

      @@shemmac4700 Yes I know....and I asked what religion has to do with pasturing cows ? He stated about " working " on the Shabbat.... Since Ive been farming all my life......in my view farming is not work.......its a part of life ! Thats like saying Im not going to breath.....for what ever reason ...... its a part of life. Farming if you enjoy it.....its a vacation not work.
      Further here he also states about improving his pasture...then states about improving his grass / grazing. In no way am I being critical !! I think hes doing a great job ! But for someone to suggest on how to make improvement they need a direction in which to start.
      So..are his pastures rough....problems with golfers... do they need reseeding ?
      The grass.... are there too many weeds...... poor stands ........need fertilizer ......etc ?
      I have many suggestions........but its helpful to know where to start .
