I was literally just going to say that, the video quality and execution is top tier and I'm saying that as a photographer ! They're also super entertaining and informative.
Hunter, your videos have come so far! They were always good but now it feels like I’m watching a very thought out Film. I look forward to watching a new one each and every Saturday. Keep up the good work. This is million+ sub count content you’re creating 👏🏼 👌
Ha. I like the cinematography and movie reference to the movie Seven..."what's in the box!" Well done with the videos. I have a 225 as well and enjoy the content, including the BMW. Thanks
Excited to see the turbo build coming on. I really enjoy the way you tell stories. You should do BTS at some point, would love to see what goes into making these videos.
Hunter, your videos are excellent. I’ve just bought a TT225, so it’s interesting to see your developments. And props on the quality of your videos too. It’s easy to miss just how much work you put into your edits, very professional!
Hey man, I’m digging the evolution of your content. A few questions for ya. I too have a mk1 225 with Megan Racing rear adjustable control arms. 1) Did you adjust your top arms to correct the stock negative camber so it sits more like the front of the car? 2) I recently picked up a spare 1.8T and have been debating weather to rebuild it for my B5.5 Passat or go full send and throw a bunch of money at it and install it into my TT with a big turbo build. I’m thinking of the latter but was wondering indeed how much it’ll cost with parts, labor and tuning. As it currently sits, it’s stage 2 running close to 295hp-300ft/lbs which is fine but…the engine is sitting in my garage so I’m think of what’s next 🤔 If I decide to go big turbo build, I’m looking 400(ish) hp. What’s your thoughts?
Great content buddy. I am a new owner of a MK1 TT over in Scotland and am really enjoying following your journey. Thanks for sharing all your hard work.
one more thing 2871 needs forged internals, 2860 is the one that can be bolted on the BAM engine as it is. Anything over 2867 will brake your motor sooner or later. I am saying this because I am a TT owner myself and ive been researching for the past year and got tons of feed back from the TT community. The 2867 will make around 550hp if you max it out and around 400-450 with a "safe tune" so the 2871 is going to be around that area and beyond. Watch out for the torque numbers. Stock BAM engines will brake after 380-400 Nm of torque.
You are spot on! Most any of these full frame turbos will blow a stock block at full tilt. I intend to run this with a very specific custom tune to keep the torque as low as possible until I get rods. Likely not even exceeding the power the ko4 is tuned at for now. Building the block is very near on the horizon, I just can't steal the garage for that long at a time so I have to break it up.
@@HunterDirection I would love to see the final numbers after the tune. Btw consider adding a boost controller it will prevent many issues that might occur and save you time and money. Cant wait to see you building that car. Best of luck
The gt2871r with eliminator frame is rated to 400 and 450 with the larger frame. It is safe to run on a stock/safe tune. I've been running one for two years on stock tune until I gather all the supporting mods.
aw man loved this one! This is pretty much the path I've been wanting to follow with mine as soon as the suspension is all rebuilt. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
Excited about this build, curious though why you didn't go with something like a frankenturbo which would have made this job a good deal easier but still give a good performance upgrade, I suspect you just fancied the challenge and flexibility the CTS type setup gives you.
Welcome to the "Big Turbo" life - you made a solid choice on the frame size, itll be an enjoyable daily driver (Ive been running a gtx2867 for nearly 7 years)! Have you decided on how much boost you will run in the interim? Thankfully our engines dont need a whole lot more than rods and exhaust valves to handle some serious power! Im looking forward to seeing what you discover and decide.
The car is awd. The cts O2 pipe I got was used in both their awd and fwd kits ironically. I'll need to make the downpipe to connect to the exhaust though. Should be a fun project!
Is your TT wideband already? Mine is narrowband so I am pretty sure I should get a new ECU and wideband conversion harness. your thoughts?@@HunterDirection
@@isaacputzier6241 My car was originally narrowband. A couple weeks ago I made a video on the conversion process to allow it to run a wideband tune ironically! It was a fairly easy procedure thankfully.
I had the same fear when looking at the footage so I went and checked. Looks like it's just a wrinkle from the casting process thankfully. And I will definitely get a price together once I know it all works for the car
So while I don't expect you to respond to a comment from an older video, I will ask. Is Deadpool your favorite Marvel character, or do you just pick shirts you think are cool? I've noticed during the TT series you wear a lot of Deadpool shirts, meanwhile I'm waiting for his 3rd movie next month
Not really sure why you ghosted? Me on my offering on my music and help with your inspiration. Just leaves a weird taste in my mouth ..I’m no cable guy, no perve etc etc. just really curious why you didn’t reply. I’ll try to keep watching, I do enjoy the scene. Keep it up in any case. Cheers and I’ll look into this turbo. Peace.
I must have missed a previous comment. That wasn't my intention haha. Sometimes when there are comment threads youtube doesn't always notify me. If you'd like, shoot me an email or DM about it so I don't miss it and we can chat more. Thank you for the support!
your videos are way above the 5-6k subs mark. You gonna blow up just be patient
Thank you a ton! I really appreciate that!

A very "Shawshank Redemption" intro! I like!

Gotta say, these videos are made so well and informative. Plus you don’t get to see many with a 225 Quattro.

I just bought an audi rs3 turbo fir my volkswagen rabbit I'm so excited to finish the build this summer
That sounds like such an awesome project!

The gt2871r is an excellent choice, I run one on my B5 A4 and it spools at 2800 rpm and packs a punch.
That sounds like a really great powerband! I am even more stoked now!
@@HunterDirection it's a great powerband, cruising in fifth gear on the highway and the boost is right there ready as soon as you hit the throttle.
@@HunterDirection I have the eliminator frame but plan to install the larger one later.

Have you thought about header wrapping the downpipe? Awesome video. Glad to see everything is coming together.
Once we get it all fitted to the car we will definitely take it all off to make sure it can manage the heat!. Super smart idea!

Con mucha atención desde México, me encantan tus vídeos
Drastically reduce the possibility for a cracked turbine exducer and go external wastegate is what seems most logical to me
The CTS down pipe says for transverse FWD. is your tt FWD?

12:17 is that a massive crack on the flange or is it just me?
BTW what was the cost of all the parts here?

clear explanation
Can I follow this guy for the mk3 golfs

Great videos! Shared as well.

Great stuff
Exciting !
Heat rap everything. With all the extra metal it will it will act like a heat soak and be roasting in the engine bay . And go with a screamer pipe 😅
Heat wrap is a super smart idea! Once we get it all set up we'll go through some cool ideas for keeping the bay cool. Thank you for the support!
