We never matched ,i tried to train my dogs personality away,it never worked,it was a shame. Took years to understand who he is and what he is about, what he needs ,wants and desires. I let him be now as much as our outside world allows it.He is better, seems happier, and through this i learned to like, accept myself some more also. The answer is love.
Good to see you Mark. That looks like really great area to hang out with dogs. Interesting points to ponder - thank you I thoroughly enjoy the devotion & loyalty my dogs have shown me, everyone needs someone around who seems to "care, " in todays society oftentimes that role is being filled by their dog.
Don’t have the wide open spaces to,let my dog run. Still, I try to give him walks…outside time. Northeast Ohio can be brutal in the winter. But, I get you Mark, not perfect but we do what we can as a team.
After watching your videos, I have stopped with the strict obedience, but I would love to open the gate and not have my dogs totally run away. When we are in the house they stick to me, follow me around, if I let them out off leash, off they run. We go on walks 6 days a week but always on a leash. I envy people who can have their dogs run free and stay with them.
Just to give you some hope… I did obedience training with my boy for 3years. I ditched all the control and management about a year ago and focused on building a relationship of mutual trust and respect. I started to meet his breed needs instead of training and I now have a different dog. He enjoys off leash freedom and does not venture out of if I leave the gate open. Hang in there, you will get there 🫶🏼🐾🐾
My dogs don't defend my (human) family. But they defend each other, and they defend me. If someone is speaking to me aggressively or if a big dog comes after me (bigger than any of my dogs), my dogs will put their lives on the line to stand in the way. I was a little surprised to see that. Anyhow, I don't question my dogs love me.
Well, there's quite a few arguments against historicity of the bible. For example, there's essentially no evidence of the Exodus. Nor slavery of Jews in Egypt.
my dog taught me that real love is doing something good for others without expecting much in return which is what we should do anyway.

It's weird I was just asking myself this question last night. Nice to see you upload
