Just a couple of points my friend, I wouldn't pin the boom each time you move and you don't have to latch the stiff legs each time. When digging around any utility's you may want to drag the bucket towards you if you curl the bucket like you did you will not be able to "feel" if you hit a water line etc. as easily. You may want to multi task the hydraulics as well, in other words try to curl the bucket while pulling the boom in so that you are doing 2-3 things with the tractor at once makes everything smother. It is kinda harder with these smaller tractors because of flow rates etc.. I have operated case 580's for years and these sub compacts are a real pleasure to use, I am sure you will have loads of fun I know I do.

Great comments! These types of helpful hints help me out and I hope others as well. I have used a loader quite a bit but not a backhoe. I tried doing 2 different functions, pull and curl the bucket at the same time and so far I haven't been able to do it. Some movements I can but not the big movements. Maybe I need a few more RPMs?? Thanks for the comment!

These small tractors DO have a sweet spot but it can be hard to find, larger tractors with far higher flow levels are much easier to fan the controls. Just takes practice Good luck
