Great to see you back on the screen guys 🙌. What a blast from the past!! That was my era of working for Screwfix, I did a 28 mile charity walk down in Yeovil for that campaign, they were, and probably still are, brilliant at raising money.

my neighbour works in a charity shop, she says prices are through the roof, theyve been told to match ebay prices.
Not logical is it? 🥴
EBay gets around 500 million people visiting there website monthly, how many people do you think walk into that Charity shop in a month 😂
I wrote about this the other day.
They don't know how to do it - effectively, for them.
Basically, they get something in, jump on a phone, look up something similar and whack that price on.
What they DON'T do, is look at sold prices or sell through rates.
If they did, they'd realise that a Primarni playsuit is NOT worth £20.
And crap like Shein and Temu are basically throwaway tat and do NOT warrant anything more than a fiver.

The manager in one of our already overpriced charity shops was told to put the prices up as they were not meeting their weekly sales targets.
Ridiculous, as now there is less people going in and the turnover of goods is terrible.
Same old stuff in week after week not selling.
Lower the prices, get people in and get the turnover going.
Better to sell lots of cheaper stuff than a couple of expensive items.
The shop will probably end up closing, its going downhill fast.
You hit the nail on the head! There’s a shop near me that sells everything for a maximum of £5. It easily clears £1500 on a weekend! Then there’s the “boutique” shop that has really nice stuff, I’ve seen the same three shirts for the past 2 months 😂

90% of Charity shops are ass nowadays, they must be picking all the best stuff out now to sell online (sucks for us but i can see why) there's rarely anything in and if there is it's $$$
We always try to catch them slipping 😅! Sometimes they’ve no clue what they’re selling.
It’s what they have always done since 2014, that’s why I am always researching!

Are you sure? I have never heard of that and i live in Yorkshire. I really think it is just a white rose represents Yorkshire. Being born in LANCS red is best!

Yes different parts of Yorkshire have different colours roses, I lived in northallerton north Yorkshire from the age of 5- 36 years old
I stopped going to charity shops months ago now, they’ve all caught on to pricing with eBay etc I only use carboots or vinted now
A lot have but I have found a few shops which are still decent

found some ok pieces in Newark before but the White Rose charity shop is one of the most overpriced shops i’ve ever been in. The Cancer Research is super expensive aswell i’ve found in the past and everything they get from before 2020 is vintage apparently so they charge more 🤦🏼
I tend to avoid the white rose shop as there’s a lot of stuff but too expensive!
@@Chaddypete loads of younger girls run it aswell which, let’s be honest, is never a good sign for grabbing a bargain.

Was a seller on a smallish scale myself. You 2 were smashing it and probably in my opinion the most successful on there. Will be interesting to see how you progress without poshmark as you seem to have such excellent business skills. glad i didnt jump on the poshmark hype dammmn that was short lived, i uploaded about 40 items and got a few sales and then stopped and put my account on holiday mode for the max time. i would be fuming now if i had invested the time to add all my stock for them to just give up and close up shop

Pete, i seen a FAKE Stone Island 1/4 zip sweater in a chazza today, and they were asking £40 for it! Arm badge looked suspect (but well worn), neck tag looked cheap, and no YKK zipper. However, it did have a fake CertiLogo tag inside which may fool a few people. The same chazza was selling a (probably fake) Moncler Daniel jacket for £150 earlier this year! I presume the future sellers may encounter problems on eBay when it turns out they aren't quite legit...
It’s so dodgy! Some shops think they can sell them as long as they are not saying it’s real 😂

I think it’s Poshmark in general as they closed the Australia and India market as well. We have a couple ideas so watch this space!
