Dreamcatcher has one of the most deep songs that actually has a message. Odd eye is about cyber bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the fake online world. People can get lost in the world of the internet and social media, and their online personas can take over their lives. Dreamcatcher want us to use our odd eye to see through the lies and don’t be fooled by the “lies masked in sweetness”. This song is such a masterpiece. I loved every aspect of this MV. Odd Eye is actually the third part of a trilogy that starts with Scream - MV followed by Boca - MV. Boca means mouth in Spanish and Portuguese. These girls are pure talent, their vocals and dance skills are no joke. Dami, the rapper, has amazing rapping skills and she also sings beautifully. I highly recommend continuing to check their music because it’s worth it 🤍
Yesssssss Knox, he's finally getting into the queens that are Dreamcatcher~~ Dreamcatcher is a 7 member girl group from label Happyface Entertainment, but they have a label made within the larger label called Dreamcatcher Company. They debuted in 2017, but five of the members were part of a smaller 5-member group called MINX. The 7 members are JiU (leader), SuA (main dancer), Yoohyeon (lead vocal), Siyeon (main vocal), Dami (main rapper), Gahyeon (youngest and lead rapper), and Handong (their one and only Chinese member). MINX actually consisted of JiU, Dami, Yoohyeon, Sihyeon, and SuA, since 2014, before Handong and Gahyeon were added in to debut as Dreamcatcher in 2017. They are well known for their rock-influenced sound in their music, which not a lot of Korean pop groups have done. Many people have said that they have songs that are anime-influenced, and sound like anime openings and endings. Hence, why they have become super popular in Japan in particular. You have to check out their other discography from the very beginning, and I can't really recommend just one other DC song, I recommend all of them~ This song, Odd Eye, explores the idea of cyberbullying, hatred, and unecessary hate within the Kpop internet community. Because people are so into social media, and thus have built a tolerane to spread hate comments bluntly, they turn into monsters that tear apart those in this industry. Hence, Odd Eye is the song that helps us to go against the hatred and to identify that hatred in order to find the utopia that they have been searching for since their 2019 single, Scream (which I highly recommend btw) and BOCA last year (I also highly recommend that). However, at the end of each chorus, they sing, "No more utopia", which shows that no matter how courageous you are, the utopia that Dreamcatcher were finding was never able to be found. Thus, their music is more darker than most kpop artists. In order to truly understand their music, you have to watch the MVs very carefully.

Just in case: tw/ s*icide Basically, Odd Eye is a part of their "Tree Of Language" (named after a fictional tree which controls order and the way people use their words in a mythical society invented for their story, but, which draws inspiration from real mythology. The tree becomes corrupted and people become incapable of saying nice, loving things to each other) concept trilogy, comprised of Scream, Boca and Odd Eye. In Scream, they metaphorically compare, basically all idols and people who receive undeserved hate from the public or their environment to the victims of the Salem witch trials whom were all, ofc, unreasonably accused of being "witches", as people are nowadays unreasonably accused of being bad by those who merely want to turn their lives into entertainment for themselves. B*llying is, unfortunately a massive problem in Korea and it's a part of what's caused a high s*icide rate in the country. So, in Scream, they first exclaim that "Please, I don't want to scream", pleading for the accusations to stop, but, in the end it turns into "I just wanna MAKE YOU SCREAM", signifying that they'd had enough, so, in Boca, a much more aggressive track, albeit, with a sultry mombathon base, they become warriors who fight those who spread hate and seek to shut their "boca", which is Spanish for :mouth". In Odd Eye, they realize that, while creating a hate-free utopia is impossible, one can find solace within themselves, which is conveyed when they say that it's "My mistake... The lyrics are very esoteric, intentionally so IMO, lol. Everything about them is basically: "Don't think about it too hard, we'll make you feel what we're saying", and they do. But yeah, check out more of them, they don't really fit into any genre, but they are all amazingly talented. There is really nothing else out there like Dreamcatcher.

Saw this on Patreon but glad you posted it here, Knox. They’re my favourite Kpop group, for sure. Their title tracks are rock and metal inspired fused with pop, but they have done many genres of songs, I recommend any of them. Plus their comeback is at the end of the month, so hyped!

in order to understand the story behind the song you have to start with scream after boca and end with odd eye. I really recommend you to react to the other two.
I'll give you the clue that brings it all together: online. Specifically, looking for happiness and fulfillment in the constructed world online. Appearing new world...hope seemed to be found after a long wander... everything is a plausible lie covered in sweetness... struggling with non-meaning no matter how you chase a mirage it's not there... Now the distortions coming from their phones throughout the m/v make sense. That tree is the Tree of Language and it's the common element in the Scream, Boca, Odd Eye dystopia trilogy (titles about hearing, speaking, seeing).
The meaning behind the "odd eye" is that one eye sees the "perfect world" while the other sees reality. The perfect world meaning no hate, no disrespect, etc. This connects to the meaning of the song, which is about Dreamcatcher not finding the utopia that they have dreamed of. They have said this in an interview, explaining that the "perfect world" they have dreamed of is just an illusion and that the utopia must start from oneself. Thank you for the reaction! 💖💖

I see Dreamcatcher, I click. Thanks for reacting to DC! They are not your typical girl group. They're very unique in Kpop with their unconventional rock/metal vibe and dark concept. They are more popular internationally than in Korea for this reason. Their title tracks are usually part of a trilogy (Odd Eye is Part 3 of 3 in the Dystopia series) and is about online bullying, etc. Their Bsides are diverse and consists of jazz, ballad, EDM, etc.

Dreamcatcher is more K rock than K pop. Their sound is really unique among kpop bands because of this. My two favorite Dream Cather Songs are Deja Vu and Scream, but Boca and Red Sun are really good too.

dreamcatcher \:D/ odd eye is part 3 of their dystopia trilogy which is a criticism of social media and how it's filled with hate and lies. you can see all the internet related imagery and how the world around them got more glitchy, distorted, and even disintegrating as they were accessing the internet. the main message is 'utopia' doesn't exist online despite how accepting and 'perfect' some communities may appear. one recurring theme in many of dreamcatcher's lyrics is to accept oneself for who you are so in this sense utopia only exists within yourself. the tree is actually a symbol of the internet. in part 1(scream) you can see words written on its inner walls and its roots are portals. here in odd eye, the tree is actually hooked up electronically at the very end. obviously there's a lot more to all the imagery so this is really the cliffnotes version.

They are that group that's low-key most peoples favorite but no one really talks much about them. They are the kind of group that if you know then you know and if you don't you're just missing out on life.. lmao. They are easily on my top 3 all time favorite kpop group with the amazing sounds and rock/metal elements. They have a HUGEEEEE storyline going on. This song is part of the Dystopia trilogy: 1. SCREAM: Hear No Evil 2. BOCA: Speak No Evil (Boca is also Spanish for mouth so self explanatory lol) 3. ODD EYE: See No Evil. In the past storyline they each represent a nightmare they try to fight off and whatnot. “Odd eye” is what you call it when a cat has two different colored eyes. Here they’re using it as a metaphor were one eye sees the false world that is presented to us while the “odd” eye sees the truth. The lyrics are about pursuing a a “utopia” but realizing it doesn’t exist.😢

Basically, Odd Eye is a part of their "Tree Of Language" (named after a fictional tree which controls order and the way people use their words in a mythical society invented for their story, but, which draws inspiration from real mythology. The tree becomes corrupted and people become incapable of saying nice, loving things to each other) concept trilogy, comprised of Scream, Boca and Odd Eye. In Scream, they metaphorically compare, basically all idols and people who receive undeserved hate from the public or their environment to the victims of the Salem witch trials whom were all, ofc, unreasonably accused of being "witches", as people are nowadays unreasonably accused of being bad by those who merely want to turn their lives into entertainment for themselves. B*llying is, unfortunately a massive problem in Korea and it's a part of what's caused a high s*icide rate in the country. So, in Scream, they first exclaim that "Please, I don't want to scream", pleading for the accusations to stop, but, in the end it turns into "I just wanna MAKE YOU SCREAM", signifying that they'd had enough, so, in Boca, a much more aggressive track, albeit, with a sultry mombathon base, they become warriors who fight those who spread hate and seek to shut their "boca", which is Spanish for :mouth". In Odd Eye, they realize that, while creating a hate-free utopia is impossible, one can find solace within themselves, which is conveyed when they say that it's "My mistake... I've become more sophisticated". They become disillusioned, yet, stay stronger for the experience. Hope this helps and thanks for reacting!

The lyrics are very esoteric, intentionally so IMO, lol. Everything about them is basically: "Don't think about it too hard, we'll make you feel what we're saying", and they do. But yeah, check out more of them, they don't really fit into any genre, but they are all amazingly talented. There is really nothing else out there like Dreamcatcher.

Saw this on Patreon but glad you posted it here, Knox. They’re my favourite Kpop group, for sure. Their title tracks are rock and metal inspired fused with pop, but they have done many genres of songs, I recommend any of them. Plus their comeback is at the end of the month, so hyped!

in order to understand the story behind the song you have to start with scream after boca and end with odd eye. I really recommend you to react to the other two.
I'll give you the clue that brings it all together: online. Specifically, looking for happiness and fulfillment in the constructed world online. Appearing new world...hope seemed to be found after a long wander... everything is a plausible lie covered in sweetness... struggling with non-meaning no matter how you chase a mirage it's not there... Now the distortions coming from their phones throughout the m/v make sense. That tree is the Tree of Language and it's the common element in the Scream, Boca, Odd Eye dystopia trilogy (titles about hearing, speaking, seeing).

The meaning behind the "odd eye" is that one eye sees the "perfect world" while the other sees reality. The perfect world meaning no hate, no disrespect, etc. This connects to the meaning of the song, which is about Dreamcatcher not finding the utopia that they have dreamed of. They have said this in an interview, explaining that the "perfect world" they have dreamed of is just an illusion and that the utopia must start from oneself. Thank you for the reaction! 💖💖

I see Dreamcatcher, I click. Thanks for reacting to DC! They are not your typical girl group. They're very unique in Kpop with their unconventional rock/metal vibe and dark concept. They are more popular internationally than in Korea for this reason. Their title tracks are usually part of a trilogy (Odd Eye is Part 3 of 3 in the Dystopia series) and is about online bullying, etc. Their Bsides are diverse and consists of jazz, ballad, EDM, etc.
Odd eye is a symbolism, like one eye see truth one sees lie, good and evil and so on

Dreamcatcher is more K rock than K pop. Their sound is really unique among kpop bands because of this. My two favorite Dream Cather Songs are Deja Vu and Scream, but Boca and Red Sun are really good too.
Highly recommend the previous songs from their triology, Scream and Boca(Odd Eye is the last release in the triology)

Odd Eye is the last song in trilogy. Also it's pretty cool fact that all songs (Scream, Boca and Odd Eye) are the "I don't hear, I don't speak and I don't see evil"

Dreamcatcher is an unique 7 member girl group which debuted in 2017. I say unique because it is, as far as I know, the only K-pop group with rock/metal infused sounds for *ALL* their title tracks. Their main tracks are mostly story based with dark concept, connecting one song to another.
There are various genres mixed in the songs, but they fused rock elements into them. It's their signature sound, while their B-sides are truly a huge variety of genres and experimental creativity. Apart from their hugely talented main composers (Ollounder & Leez), their b-sides contain the creativity of the girls themselves who take part in the composing and writing of the songs too.

odd eye is part 3 of their dystopia trilogy which is a criticism of social media and how it's filled with hate and lies. you can see all the internet related imagery and how the world around them got more glitchy, distorted, and even disintegrating as they were accessing the internet. the main message is 'utopia' doesn't exist online despite how accepting and 'perfect' some communities may appear. one recurring theme in many of dreamcatcher's lyrics is to accept oneself for who you are so in this sense utopia only exists within yourself. the tree is actually a symbol of the internet. in part 1(scream) you can see words written on its inner walls and its roots are portals. here in odd eye, the tree is actually hooked up electronically at the very end. obviously there's a lot more to all the imagery so this is really the cliffnotes version.

Dreamcatcher is a very unique kpop girl group with heavy J-rock influence while still being true to their own Kpop twist. They are that group that's low-key most peoples favorite but no one really talks much about them. They are the kind of group that if you know then you know and if you don't you're just missing out on life.. lmao. They are easily on my top 3 all time favorite kpop group with the amazing sounds and rock/metal elements.

“Odd eye” is what you call it when a cat has two different colored eyes. Here they’re using it as a metaphor were one eye sees the false world that is presented to us while the “odd” eye sees the truth. The lyrics are about pursuing a a “utopia” but realizing it doesn’t exist.😢
