NEVER ever even heard of anybody ever taking their therapist to the doctor with them! I saw my surgeon in Oct. of last year for the first time. Set up surgery date for 1/2/19 at the visit and never saw him again until in the pre-op room. Saw him the next AM before I was dismissed. I did not see him again until my 6 wks post- op visit and have not seen him sense. My therapists had to send a report to him weekly during my 9 1/2 wks of PT? I did have many conversations with his RN during those 9 1/2 wks! She always called me back ASAP! I always make a list of questions before I go to most of my doc appts so that I don’t forget anything. I always research everything so I am very informed on most medical things because I love all things medical. As you know, I will have my next TKR next Feb., but this time around I will have you to help me through that recovery for which I am so extremely grateful! I didn’t.t find you until about my 8 wk post-op time frame and you have been THE best support I could have ever wished for!!!!!!! Because of you, I will go into this next TKR with a much more positive attitude and I will be so much easier on myself and won’t have my expectations set so high! I will be prepared for the long haul of recovery!
So glad I found your site . Such good info my PT came in rammed my leg up to my butt to get the bend 😡it hurt for 2 days afterward I couldn’t do anything. So your advise makes so much sense thank you
A+..Tony, my leg is bow/crookef which had screwed up my ankle and foot. I am now seeing foot/ankle specialist. I have heart condition, so another surgery is bad. Yet, My primary doctor suggest to see a surgeon in L.A.or SFO to re-do my TKR before I lose mobility of my leg. Sever nerve damage. My career was Fitness industry, now I am a owner if a Handicap licsense plate due to crooked/bow TKR.
Karen, thanks for sharing that update. I am sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how frustrating that must be. If there is anything I can do please let me know.
Perfect timing. I have my follow up next week. You are amazing in your teachings.
Thanks so much! My fingers are crossed and I wish for the best for you.
