Fantastic lineup, some real nice pipes! I've got a much smaller rotation with:
    1. Brigham Klondike bent billiard shape 23.
    2. Savinelli Estella bent billiard shape 602.
    3. Lorenzetti Julius Caesar billiard shape 03.
    4. Capri Warlock churchwarden.
    5. Danish estate freehand, unmarked.

I have 28 pipes at the moment, and while I have no true rotation, these are what I most frequently smoke: Dunhill Root Briars from 1949, 1952, and 1956, and a contemporary Shell Briar; a Savinelli Punta Oro Author and Monsieur Author; a Castello KKKK Lovat; a Tom Eltang Canadian; a Lasse Skovegaard Acorn or Apple, I think; and a Comoy Canadian. And a bunch of Petersons and Radice Inverted Calabashes.

Great line up I have a good collection of pipes from a pipe shop that closed its doors in the eighties at least one Costello and comoys exc

  • @BlackAdder665

I have 28 pipes as of now and I smoke them according to the tobaccos I'm in the mood for and, when in doubt which pipe has had the longest airing time, I decide that by smelling the bowls.
I have dedicated my pipes to either heavy Aromatics or light Aromatics or VaPers or pure Virginias or tobaccos containing Latakia, of which I have some dedicated to Oriental-forward tobaccos and the others for tobaccos with more/a lot of Latakia.
If I was a rich man, I'd probably have way over 200 pipes, I guess. Every time I browse on smokingpipes, there are so many pipes I'd like to own but can't afford. But in fact the ones I have are more than sufficient for the amount of smokes I have.
I love how you, Bradley, celebrate the name "Sasieni" every. bloody. time! :-D I don't know why but I enjoy that tremendously.

Pipe collecting is a bit of a trap for me, I seem to keep finding ones I cannot do without 😊
Nice to be able to find a pipe for every mood though with 40 or so to choose from!

Through serendipitous sorting I ended up with a first, 2nd and third string of about a dozen pipes each. And indeed drying time seems to determine the tier lineup. If I can "smell" it, then the individual and sometimes the whole tier gets a rest, even sending some to a salt and moonshine "shower". I did just win 20 clay pipes on ebay, but I suspect I'll string 'em as a windchime... chuckle. Good vids, great hobby.

I smoke mainly at work. I smoke meers. I smoke them until they are so dirty they don’t smoke well anymore. Then I clean them with alcohol, let them dry and throw another pipe in rotation. All are sms pipes. A poker, and two omm pauls. A few Peterson systems too. Had to replace an air hose recently and sparked up one of my pauls. Had to place it on the knuckle of my train as I changed the hose. I wish I had had a camera. It looked pretty cool resting up there.

Very nice collection Bradley! I always enjoy your tobacco reviews, so thank you, and please keep them coming at your convenience. I have a pretty modest collection of pipes, consisting of 4 Savinellis, 2 Peterson’s, and 4 Missouri Meerschaum cobs. I reserve my cobs exclusively for aromatics, which I don’t smoke as often anyways. My absolute favorite pipes though are my Savinelli 320KS authors. If I only got to keep one pipe, it would be a 320 without a second thought!

  • @GoBigBlue80

I never see anyone smoking Big Ben pipes. I think they are one of the most overlooked and underrated pipes here in US. I'm sure a lot of people smoke them in Europe but I just don't see people with them here. I love them. They are definitely worth the money.

I have been coveting your Costello 55 since you unboxed it and one of these days I have to find one in that finish a size. It is wonderful looking and looks like it would smoke perfectly for me. I have a Savinelli Punto Oro modern production 114 sandblast and it’s a favorite, can only imagine how great the early models are.

I have 14 briar pipes or so and a few corn cobs. My favorite is probably still my first artisan pipe, a Max Capps Horn. It depends on my mood and what blends I feel like smoking. All pipes are designated to a specific blend type.

  • @razorbackpiperguy2898
    @razorbackpiperguy2898 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Nice. I own 5 Petersons, 3 of which have the p-lip and 2 with a regular fishtail. I will say the p-lips smoke wetter for me. I think it's because the draw is not as free. Drawing on the pipes with nothing in them, you can tell it is more restricted than the fishtails. I'm thinking about swapping out the stems, or sending them down the road. Great collection. I especially love the Castellos.

Hey, it's fun to see your pipes. In my daily Savinelli rotation I use: 506 Corallo De Mare, 506 Punto Oro Mister G, 506 Maradon, 127 Corallo De Mare, 1003 Corallo De Mare, 673 unfinished, 404 Punto Oro, 4pcs 404 Extra, 404 One Rustic, 2pcs Estella, 2pcs system, 626 Roma and 702 Roma. I never use my 810KS Corallo De Mare and my Bulldog Corallo De Mare. If I have a lot of time, Peterson 307 Systen is a good choice.

I was watching an episode of on of those "house shows" where they tear down your kitchen wall and suddenly everything is a "space" and someone's whipping creme fraishe in the background. But the man of the house said "and there's room for my pipes in here?" and there's a shot of their current home office with a... WALL... of pipes. All colors and varieties. I was amazed. And that's how I picture your smoking room or office, sir.

Bradley, in my experience, pipes that have turbulent or restricted airflow will smoke wet. Peterson pipes that have P-lips but are not system pipes will fall into this category. I think you'll find that your best smoking pipes have a very easy draw and pass a pipe cleaner easily. Out of the eight Petersons I own, only the ones that don't whistle and pass a pipe cleaner easily are great smokers. Would you say this observation is consistent with your Dunhills and Castellos?

Since you have a regular rotation of pipes and you smoke a variety of tobaccos, do you have a problem smoking Virginia tobaccos from the same pipes you smoke English blends? I have dedicated pipes for VaPers and those for English blends but does it really make a difference?

The idea to consider, It might be interesting to see You while cleaning up those oxidized stems on the wheel, Yes , based on experience with Castellos and few Dunhills both these brand real provide with the exceptional smoking experience, cool smoke and effortless draw, ps, pipes with thin chamber wall do teach us smoking slow, that is why I'm starting to love those old estates and all lighter weight pipes)Best Greets, Paul

I'm not trying to brag or anything but you should really try some early 20th century pipes. Some of them will really knock your socks off. Those Old-Timers knew how to smoke I have a 1904 5 6 7 8 and 9 Calabash Style pipes that are amazing... you can tell the exact age of the pipe by the Hallmarks stamped on the silver ring on the stem. Or if you have a silver top sometimes it will be stamps there... and the crazy part is they did not cost more than a new pipe and in a lot of cases cheaper than a lot of money newer pipes
