@@mike15rork As long as they were the sturdier 2x4-esque support pieces, definitely. The thinner slat pieces would maybe work but would be much less sturdy and might need reinforcement.

As father of 3, I’ve done the exact same thing when they were young. Great work
Love the build. I work almost exclusively with salvaged and pallet wood. This would be a super simple build that would really stand out. May I suggest picking up some Varathane ebony stain. I looks really good and would be easy to stain the spacer pieces before assembly.

This is great! I visited my brother recently and saw that him and his family take their shoes off at the front door so there is a pile of shoes there. I offered to make a shoe rack for him to clean things up a bit. My design is exactly the same as yours except without the angle in the legs. I'm redesigning mine now! Thanks!

Awesome Project. GREAT JOB. It’s cool looking so I can see why your daughter stole it! Any reason why you didn’t stain & paint the bottom sides beside they aren’t seen?? Or is it because it adds a third colour to it?? Either way this is a cool simple project that looks way more expensive than it is.. I’m sure some Millennials would pay a pretty penny for it!! Cheers

Yes that's true, I usually wipe off when wet.
Good looking design but lacks measurement details. You need to calculate the measurements before you start to build.

Debris from shoes on top can easily get into shoes on the lower rack.
