    I was told that there was a reason Certain Sermons were given over and over again. Why would you need to rail against something if folx weren’t doing them.

    2 questions. In many Latin countries couples dying it in “number 2” like gay sex before marriage I suppose this must have been common as well.
    Second to my question. Most people if not all were farmers. In my experience farmers have pretty good control that the femaile animals getting pregnant in the mid of their periods. If they do the logic is probably that their wife’s do as well and therefore avoid sex those period. When did farmers understand this fact?

      The answer is control. The church "fathers" discovered that using fear (the threat of hell) was a certain method of controlling the superstitious general public thus assuming political power and monetary gain. That's how the church not only became insanely wealthy, and lording it over kings and emperors.

    • @bell.e.flower
      @bell.e.flower หลายเดือนก่อน

      They used the Church to control people back then [for whatever agenda they had in mind- it was all about power and money], it wasn't about God it was about control.

      Philippe I, Duke of Orléans was gay & married twice & had 6 children, I believe. I wouldn't exactly say his marriage with Henrietta of England was this cool & open relationship according to our standards. Their marriage became pretty petty & bitter. (She was having an affair with Louis XIV & Philippe began openly flaunting his lovers). His second marriage to Elizabeth, a German princess, was far more successful & they seem to have had a genuine working relationship & friendship.
      Orléans is a fascinating historical character because you can'treally put him into a box & doesn't conform to any modern stereotypes & is referred to as the "Grandfather of Europe."
