It is really so cool to see other people's processes. I've written a lot of songs but I haven't shared them with many people. This is encouraging!
You should really start to share your songs. I'm a songwriter too.. write and record, not many people know my songs, but I just keep doing it. Hopefully one day those song will break through.

i wrote a song and presented it to Don about 13 years ago at a bible school in Dallas, TX. And he told me that it would never work, i need to focus on becoming a skilled musician, and forget about songwriting. Well fast forward 13 years, I've became a skilled musician. But the song i wrote and presented to him 13 years ago, has went on to win several awards, and ministers to people everytime i play and sing it. And i didn't change anything about the song. And I've written hundreds more that all either had a hook in the chorus, or a great melody line. That have went on to win awards to.

Before I had children I had a girlfriend who took me to a studio she's black he was white allow me to listen to her recording she sounded awful terrible I mean literally like a screeching cat I couldn't say anything because God wouldn't allow it so I know the perspective is for all four God writing a Christian song first then getting into the world and my life story maybe you'll bless me I don't know if I'm wrong I don't know if I'm right usually that's where it starts in the church though right

I wrote my first song almost 10 years ago, after watching a Bio on an amazing singer. I didn't understand what God was doing in my life, when He said the song it not for you but the singer, I tried for almost 6 months trying to hand over to the singer, but no one would listen to me. once I gave up. The when on to bless me with more meaningful songs blessings others. thanks for the encouragements.

I have a question. I write my own worship songs, can I write the song before I write the music? I don't have any musical instruments, but I love to sing. Thank you for anyone who responds to this. Your advice is appreciated. God bless.
Sure. That seems to be how I'm most comfortable writing songs. Get the words down first, that way I can have a rough idea of where I want to go, and then put music to it. That said, everyone writes a different way. Do what seems natural to you. If it is easier for you get in a good rhythm by writing songs in a specific way, stick with it.

Great videos Sir.. Thank u for taking the time to make these.. One thing though.. It feels like u are often straining when singing these new songs, as though u are singing outside ur vocal range or need to adjust ur singing technique.. Not sure whether it's that u should sing in a lower octave or use ur chest voice instead, but I think one / both of those will sound much stronger & more powerful..? - @acharich

How is it if I start with the melody mostly when I'm dealing with tonal languages
I've always been a shy type being a Pisces is not easy by the way my first time holding a microphone up to my mouth to sing a song in front of a crowd was it when I was about 🤔 maybe about 5 years old and my grandmother's Church in Cartersville Georgia I froze and gave the mic back to my mom so embarrassing right then growing up in the 80s I knew I had to do something that my son's father who's a rapper in Atlanta Georgia he surprised me with the performance with him and his guy friends at a club one time I should have grabbed the mic and jumped on stage with him but instead I froze and embarrassment didn't know what to do or say I'm so sick and tired of this now at 37 years old I'm ready to write a song? This is ridiculous I need to write I know I could make millions with my talent that's what I'm ready for my millions performing 🎭🎬 and keeping up with the Joneses maybe not so much getting this laziness off of me as has been the easiest thing either I pray

I would like to write a Christian song always wanted to do it but for me it's a little harder cuz I don't know how to read or spell so I walk around my house and singing it out loud so if I could get somebody to help me right one that would be amazing
