Thinking about it, Yugi's deck is actually brilliant for the duel in the anime. He's facing the strongest monsters in the game, so having a ton of stall to survive is the best option.

I like to think that the canonical ending of the original show is just Yugi walling off Atem until the point that the Pharaoh basically just says "fuck this, send me to the spirit world already". No goodbyes, no reassuring words for his friends, and instead of a thumbs up he just flips off Yugi as he walks away into the light while muttering about how bullshit "swords of revealing light" is.
After the first duel, every time Doto opening hand had swords of revealing light I was laughing to tears and when the 4th duel hit with double swords by his hand I had to give myself a 5 min break
I swear i love these guys they are the best. The next ones we got have is Heroes vs Heroes Jaden vs Aster Phoenix, or The Battle of Brothers Zane vs Syrus
Im just imagining Yugi trying to stuff Atem into the gold sarcophagus while yelling "Get in the fucking box! Move on!" While Atem stutters "I-it's best of 3! 4! 5!" Dont do this Yugi!"

@@dice9270 I think teamsamurai made a video about the wicked gods. You could probably use that, but it may not be thematic. And the deck could probably be structured around using god slime.
Some of the legacy of the duelist match ups are ridiculous, the most infamous is probably the rare hunter exodia deck. Sometimes the decks are designed just to turbo out an ace monster from the episode and sometimes you have decks like yugis and jadens that have like 3 different archetypes mushed together

Okay 3 things 1: when doto said oh yeah he sounded like vector 2: now I really wanna see the atem deck from the Jaden duel against this yugi deck 3: kite vs Mizar, Yuma vs kite( after duel carnival), shark vs Quattro (honestly duel carnival or barian onslaught work for me), and the one that's never gonna happen is Anna vs Yuma (I really like Anna and her trains to the face, though she had one proper 1v1 duel), oh and the shark vs Yuma (their final duel)
I'd say this was "poetic justice" for the Yami vs Jaden Duel, but there was nothing poetic or justified about this Duel! It just seemed broken! XD If I remember correctly, in actual worldwide *Duel Monsters* Events/Tournaments that the _Swords of Revealing Light_ card was banned... Considering what it does, I'm not surprised! XD Lol, I can imagine a "practice/training" Duel between Yami and Yugi at Grandpa's Card Shop with Yami getting salty about Yugi cowardly spamming _Swords of Revealing Light_ cards the whole time, saying exactly what SeeReax says! XD By the way, can we just appreciate how much effort SeeReax puts into roleplaying the characters in all of these Duels? Makes 'em so much more enjoyable/hilarious! 👍 P.S. I'm still hoping to see you guys "reenact" some of the Duels featuring the female characters: Téa vs Mai, Yusei vs Akiza etc. :)
