Hi Sam and thank you very much for your interest. Please send an email to info@hammarlift.com and which country you intend to operate in to get a price. Thank you.
42 tonne containers! in metric is that not 92,000 lbs.? 42 ton containers in imperial is 84,000 lbs. I worked with containers here in Canada for 20 years. I have seen some 20 foot containers that you could load aprox 30 ton but not not 42 tonne!!
You are absolutely correct, standard 20 foot containers peak at approx 30 ton. However there are special containers adopted for refrigirated, bulk or tank transports weighing in at larger weights.
Sidelifters in Australia have a SWL of 28-32 ton but cannot transport legally, So usually a container is transported on a normal trailer, the off lifted onsite
Hi Jaco and thank you for your feedback. This is a very old movie (about 20 years old) so not everything you see here is relevant today. For example the remote we have today is very similar to the one Swinglift have. We also have other models that are much more similar to the more common Swinglift model than the one shown in the movie, and as far as we are aware they are at least as safe and faster, while also having more functionallity. Check out the link below if you want to know more about it. If you have any more feedback on how we could improve we'd be happy to hear you out! Hi. I used to use a swinglift for a quite few years. But now i am on a hammer(not a leg over model)for 2 weeks now. Now that i have used it, i dont feel it is as unstable as a Steelbro. That was what i compared it to. Even with a 29 ton box its actually very smooth. The only thing with the remote is that i am used to to quick jump from the front to rear modules with the toggle switch on the right... now with a box hanging in the air i need to push mkre buttons to go rear or front module. Maybe you should look into a easier or quicker way jump from front to rear. Other than that its good. Leaks less oil than my Swinglift👍
Dear Fofou Clement, Thank you for your interrest in HAMMAR sideloaders, can you please send an Email to info@hammar.eu with your contact information and our sales team will sent you a quotation as soon as possible.
Terry, the HAMMAR 151 Models' versatile stabillizer makes it very unusal to need "jack knifing", depending on the design of the rail wagon there is almost allways possible to place the stabilizer on the chassi of the rail wagon.
There are always different ways of doing things, as you can see 4:30 in this video it´s fully possible to place the stabilizer between between the chassis and the container.
Always nice to get feedback, transferring between trailers or as you mentioned railway chassis can be challenging. Often operators invent their own method of choise. If transfer to rail is a main task we have the HAMMAR 170 model, with an undermounted stabilizer, we have a video of that model here on youtube also.
